When you are sad and feel all alone, when you think no one care for you at all, when you feel that all is lost, remember:
Footsteps in the Sand - Author Unknown
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one beloning to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."
The Lord replied "My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffereing, when you see only one set of footprints in the sand, it was then that I carried you."
Never forget you special someone you.

it is so beautiful, the dying day the colours bleed to twilight while i am alone you should have come to comfort me
as the waters receding from the rocks the wind is slowing to a halt but not the tears, they will not stop as i continue to cling to empty hope
the fading lights give way for Lune you may be looking at it, i hope, i assume bitter tastes a little sweet, moonflowers bloom my dear friend, i pray you will come back soon
********* author too bashful

Yeah, Jags wrote it Tsel. Didn't you notice the line under it, author to bashful?
I say he definitely wrote it and just doesn't want to admit it. Jags, I've seen other stuff that you have written and i know you can write so you just as well admit it.
Oh, and it is very good. I like it.

thank u. *extra bashful*
i wrote something similar few years back & i was really on-location; watching sunset on the rocks by the seaside. thought of my best friend, & how much i missed her, ....... .
well it was sad, it was past, so there it is.
i used to write tons of poems (ideas struck at inopportune times) but not anymore. i know my poems can be unusual & irregular but i never like to conform nor to be like others.

I went to Private Religious Boarding Schools in my youth and I drew upside-down burning crosses on my exams.
Oh, the things we do in our youth.

and the owl makes love to the moon as she wanes, he begs her to return soon on the next starless night, i will come full and bright till then, from the devouring demon i must hide
**********
this is based on a malay folklore (which i think has heavy hindu influence when Islam has yet to reach south east asia) which tells of a moon goddess who was about to be swallowed by an ancient djinn (of the earth, if i'm not mistaken). she then wove from her hair with drops of blood as well as a needle to form a dragonfly to send S.O.S. to the god of thunder for help.
i guess the folklore tries to explain the phenomenon of moon eclipse.

also i mixed it a bit with another folk story of the owl pining away for his lover who stays in paradise (which is believed to be the moon).

Jags, I knew you were good. Can't believe you thought you could keep it from me.
I like it very much and it sounds like something that would come from you.

That was poignant, Jags
Didn't really think it needed any explaining either.

Sky Seasoning - Shel Silverstein
A piece of sky Broke off and fell Through the crack in the ceiling Right into my soup, KERPLOP! I really must state That I usually hate Lentil soup, but I ate Every drop! Delicious delicious (A bit like plaster), But so delicious, goodness sake ---- I could have eaten a lentil-soup lake. It's amazing the difference A bit of sky can make.
Enjoy

Shan > That poem made me smile.
My lady's Presence Makes The Roses Red by Henry Constable
My lady's presence makes the roses red, Because to see her lips they blush for shame. The lily's leaves, for envy, pale became, And her white hands in them this envy bred. The marigold the leaves abroad doth spread, Because the sun's and her power is the same. The violet of purple colour came. Dyed in the blood she made my heart to shed. In brief: all flowers from her their virtue take; From her sweet breath their sweet smells do proceed; The living heat which her eyebeams doth make Warmeth the ground and quickeneth the seed. The rain, wherewith she watereth the flowers, Falls from mine eyes, which she dissolves in showers.
