I'm playing Throne of Bhaal right now anyway, got my RPG fix right there (until I finish it, then we'll see! ;D )

What I still don't understand, is, how Baal from sumeric religion went into RPGs. He even got a negative image (Blizzard), which he doesn't have in original sumeric religions.
Maybe the "inventors" of the RPG-god just thought "it's in the bible and not christian, so it must be bad" ?
I'm sometimes strongly wondering where authors take the names from ...

Alrik...
Christianity demonised many if not most of the gods of the old religions, and Western games are almost invariably Christian influenced.
I suspect that a lot of game designers (Pen & paper RPGs as well as CRPGs) just flick through medieval books on demons/devils and pick names out that sound suitably impressive.
IIRC, Bhaal/Baal is quite a common one, but by no means the only. And there is the added bonus that the ancient religions of Sumer and Babylon, among others, are so little known in the West that the names are pretty safe to pinch without most gamers having any idea of the true origins of the names.

Just bought two new games: Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within (PS2) and Red Dead Revolver (ps2) Anyone else played either of these two? What do you think?

Still roughly half way through PoP:WR, Max. It's good to a point, but didn't completely hook me enough that I had to finish it.
Don't know the other one at all, I'm afraid.

Still pretty early into the game, just defeated the lady in black and went back into the present.
RDR is a 'Wild West' game that basically revolves around you being a bounty hunter. It's a pretty good game but would benefit greatly if you could explore more and have more of a free-roaming (GTA-esque) style to it.

Never even connected Bhaal to Baal... but I always thought Bhaal was a cool name for an evil god (as far as Forgotten Realms went). Liked it better than Bane, which was a little too easy, though Cyric is about as cool.

BGII - SoA/ToB (On the weekend only) BGII requires a lot of critical thinking on my part and if I play it on a work night my brain never shuts off so I can go to sleep. ;D KoTORII & NWN (During the week) Tsel

...Trying Hordes Of The Underdark, on recommendation from MysterD. So far, I'd say you were right - it's easily the best in the series, and I'm enjoying it a lot

I loved how Hordes treats you as a rock star hero basically, since you *were* the Hero in SOU.
One of my favorite non-controllable, not playable NPC's of all time is in Hordes. She's like one of the coolest characters I've ever seen.
And I'm not talking about Sharwyn or Aribeth, who both can enter your party -- and both are great NPC's!

I must admit, I loved that. Gave me a real sense of continuing to play rather than starting a new game. A very nice touch indeed

BTW, my fav. non-playable NPC is the Knower-Of-Names, who you'll meet near the end.
