I forget, but its mostly that virus thing thats got me hesitating. I've stopped for a while now, and I don't really want to start again until they get their act together with that jumbo patch. And if they don't ever, well... I guess I'll live with it another time, and continue from there. Killerzzz P.S.: If I do get back into it any time soon, I'll definantly look into the way to get rid of that seizuresque glitch as you did. K.

It can be as simple as a cookie. That doesn't mean to take it lightly, but it has nothing to do with the game. For what it's worth. Here are the steps to control that white flickering. It usually works. And as for waiting for a jumbo patch. By the time they put one out, you will have already moved onto another game. go to the g3 folder, and then into the data foldercreate a folder called _CompiledImageIn this folder create another folder called _InternThis may require you to fiddle around with some of the video settings. Since you are cool with medium graphics though, I would suggest using the default values.

winlok: When I finish playing Starcraft (again) I think I'll give G3 another chance and do what you suggested. ;D But as per the virus... I dunno, my comp dectected the .exe on the disk as a trojan. But then again, that could also be nothing. Just some part of how the file was made that it doesn't understand and labels as a virus. Oh, well. We'll see. Killerzzz

Modern scanners analyse programs about how they might behave. A certain behavioural (hope this is right spelled) pattern typical for viruses and trojans might generate the message that there is (or might be) a virus or trojan out there.

I've been playing this and liking this.
Performance is better, w/ the newest Win XP NVidia drivers that just came out recently -- 94.xx or whatever they are.
The white flickering that happens on-screen is freaking annoying as sin, though....

Quick Patch 1.70 ImpressionsLeave it to The Community to fix a game the dev's shouldn't have screwed-up so much in the first place... Whoa! Technical in-game performance is much better with this patch. Game looks better with more stuff turning on and now the game runs fine in 1024x768. AI is smarter and combat is more interesting with the Alternative AI settings cranked ON. Game is nowhere as unfair, as you won't have 20 monsters running after you at once trying to slay you -- since the game isn't easy as is, anyways; they'll just wait on you, if you got too many already attacking you. If you turn Alternative AI off, then it'll go back to the old way for you insane over-hardcore gamers that want to get slaughtered. Good news is load times are better but...bad news is it is not by much, really.... Ummmm....why couldn't Gothic 3 have came out like this in the first place? Okay, gonna go play a bit more with this patch installed and tinker with it -- and gonna have more impressions, too...
