Screenies look great, but I hope you can pull it back to isometric view. It's a bit hard to run a party based game without that.
Love the press release: "In ascending order of importance, here's what it does!" ;D

...Not sure this isn't a good thing. At least it's a far better idea than the usual 'several month advantage to console followed by bad PC port'.

L4D and FO3 were released for both PC and consoles at same time -- and look how good all versions of those turned out.
As long as they polish the life out of DA: Origins PC and it ships in great condition, works for me...

Well you'll get no argument from me against a polished game, it's just the pushed-back release dates. 2008 was a boring year for games IMO and 2009 is looking to be good, with Divinity 2, Dragon Age, Empire, Diablo III, so the waiting sucks all the more since none of them are close to being released yet..

...Not sure this isn't a good thing. At least it's a far better idea than the usual 'several month advantage to console followed by bad PC port'. Which is usually when publishers cry "Our PC version was pirated too much." I'm sure that's one problem -- but usually, it's more than just that one reason. When the PC version requirements are stiff and the same game's already been out for the console much longer -- well, yeah, did you really think the PC version would take off in sales? Who wants to spend another $40-60 on the same game they already bought? The only sales you'll really get when the PC version drops are those gamers who waited for the PC version to drop (who are basically your leftovers, since it was out already on the console) AND the few hardcore gamers who are such big fans that they'll support both the console and PC version with their wallet. Many gamers have a console and a PC, these days and age. If it's out for the console first and that version turns out very well, gamers will flock to that version. They won't care if it drops for the PC, months later -- probably not until the PC version is cheap (that'll likely be even WAY more months later) and/or PC version will sport a good deal of new content not found in the console version (which often, is not likely, these days -- often, PC version might support mods whereas the console version won't support mods).

Give it a few more months, is the cynical answer. First it was PC-exclusive, then PC first, console later, now it's simultaneous release, see the trend? Maybe polishing the game is the reason, or maybe it's just console-centric thinking, which maybe you can't really blame a company for in this gaming market - unless it alienates the PC fanbase, and it does.

I'd say both. Let's hope they don't waste all the extra development time, since they now have it.

I don't mind more time taken if it results in a less buggy game. I wish more companies would do that, in fact.
The only way they really alienate me is with draconian DRM or really bad, buggy games. Honestly, you couldn't GIVE me some of this stuff!

IGN took a demo of this DA: Origins, hands-onWhich is what you can do with NWN2 games, as well. That sounds like a pretty good control set-up for the KB/mouse, to me. That just sounds awesome. This is the kind of tactical RPG combat I've been wanting to see more of over the years, not let of. Ick. Hopefully, the game's AI and pathfinding will be better than any of the AI used in the NWN series. The NWN series, the AI just sometimes liked to do its own thing for NO REASON. Hehe.

Says them. Thanks goodness the "overview" camera view hasn't been entirely abandoned in RPG's.
Yeah, I also noticed in the videos how the mage standing in the rear of the party just blasted a fireball straight through the entire party. Everything was on fire.

System sounds simillar to the 'Gambit' system in FFXII - which is good, as that system is awesome.
