I'm not familiar with the program Fireworks, mobbie. I use PSP and Photoshop. I started off with PSP because Photoshop is so expensive, but then a friend gave me Photoshop and now I use it the majority of the time. PSP still has some features that I really like, but Photoshop is really fine tweaked for what I like to do with pics and my tablet works great with it.

Yeah, I saw the shadow and cross in the last painting... though to me they remained a shadow and a crack on the wall; the girl is really what my eye keeps on in this pic. ;D I think I hit the nail on one thing that disturbs me in her; her hand at the right, it makes her a way too long arm, unless her arm would not be attached to the rest of her body anymore, or is not hers... ? The proportions on her body and the way it makes her stand are tickling me, but I have a hard time to definite how... I wonder how he'd take it to have his works compared to Straub's; I think the comments would be interesting. Oooh, look who found his way in this thread... ;D I don't know Fireworks either; I use to work with PSP as well, for my part, and its ease of use/conviviality, with tools that are versatile enough for pretty advanced tweaking suit pretty much of my needs. I'd be interested in knowing more about Fireworks, though, if you can.

Hmmmm, the arm is an interesting question.
If you look at her though her whole body is out of porportion and my guess is that he did it on purpose. Look closely at her feet and ankles. The aren't right and the toes on the right seem to go under her hand which makes that foot even longer too. Also if you look at her shin it look short compare to the length it should be. Looks to me like he was looking to achieve an affect more than realism.
Maybe her body is changing into some kind of creature. ;D And the shadow in the background holding the cross is trying to protect himself from her. ;D

Well, if she's changing into another crature, then I lean to interprete it as taking some large primate, gorilla-like orientation, even if she'd have to eat a few more crusts for. And her shadow, maybe is it just that she's faster than her in the process... ;D
But that's right, her body is a kind of result of inependant extremes. The top of her tunk doesn't go with her neck and both don't seem to go with the bottom either, the size and position of the face vs that of the rest of her head... I don't really find the oddness in her ankles though. And I had not noticed the second foot thing.
