Two of the books that I liked the best were Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. I also thought Half-Blood Prince was pretty good. Anybody else have a favorite book out of the series?

Order of the Phoenix...awsome. What about Order of the Phoenix made you think it was so awesome?

blech you want details...sigh...ok fine, First of all I really enjoyed the way the characters grew up. They seemed to learn alot throughout the book. I love a little fighting the machine as well and spiting toad lady was hysterical...specifically the fireworks portion by fred and george. ...and a sparkler floated by the window still resolutely spelling out the word poop... I wont lie and say I read for pleasure much (there are far to many video games to play) but I have read it 5-6 times and I actually laugh out loud when I read it. Other than that, the fights and action are great Rowling writes well enough that I can picture the scenerey and that is of course my major beef with the movies particularly the new ones...ok I am reallly tired, I have been trying to complete a research project over the last few days and well Im brain dead so if this was just non-sensical rambling...move on.

The movies haven't excatly been incredible.
I still cringe when I see the first movie, I've seen the second once and same with the two rest. Goblet of fire had some good moments but also half an hour that could've been cut short - particuarly around the ball. It got boring.
My favorite book - that's a hard one, though I tend to reread book 6 the most. The first two books are simplistic looking back and while number three was better I tend to favor book 4 to 6 simply because there's a better balance than in book 5. As a whole I prefer book 4 and onward.
Book 4 signalled the end of the relatively peaceful times and the series took quite a dark turn. Book five had some incredible moments, particuarly toward the end but as a whole it was too long and dragged out. Book six had a better mix of things and set up the players for issue seven. As of now there's absolutely no return to the more innocent days.
Strangely, I have a habit of rereading parts of the books that really grabbed me, eg. "the only one he ever feared" chapter in book 5 (actually the whole ending from "Department of mysteries" and then close the book Anyone else does this - reread particuarly moving moments?
