Ok guys, I'm attenting a party on the 27th of June, which is one of the biggest in Belgium. The party is from a big radio called Q-Music and the general idea is to come dressed up in something completely wrong. The music can go from disco to schlager, hippie and rock and roll. Guest groups are Tavares, Gibson Brothers, Bananarama and George Baker among the ones you may know. I went to the carnival store to pick my outfit and I went for a Saturday Night Fever style:
The picture is a bit fuzzy cause it's been taken with my boyfriends cellphone. There will be more pictures soon, I'm still looking for 70's style earrings, haircut, shoes i already have, I wanted gogo boots, but since the party will last untill the early hours I needed something more comfortable so I got me some platform cork sandals. If anyone has ideas for earrings and a haircut please let me know. I might be able to go to the hairdresser or else i will do it myself. Don't show me too many pics of Olivia Newton John or Charlies Angels, my hair is just not long enough for that haircut ;D

That's a cool outfit. How about a hairstyle and make-up à la 80's ("wrong" look if there can be one IMO!). ;D In French we say having the hair "crêpés" for that kind of hairstyle... You know, combing backwards by small bits lock by lock so the hair stands a little in the air and adding spray net to make it stay that way. Add silver to your make-up, too, with that outfit; and false lashes would be neat to add too. ;D

Wicked Fille! Great idea about the eye lashes, though I can't find lashes that I can bear About the silver make up, I guess I can figure out where to get that. Too bad I can't see the picture you posted, the hair idea I want to try out, something wild will do for me, since it's not long enough to create a Farah Fawcett look ;D

Hmmm... or how about one of those punk hairstyles where your hair's like standing up on end? I don't know how many cans of hairspray it'd take for that style, though. So you might be better off borrowing a wig, instead. Earrings, huh? Maybe studded type(fake diamond bling bling) or dangling type(gold or silver or some other colour)?

As for the punk style, doesn't really go with the disco 70's outfit i'm afraid ;D and earrings, well, i bought a serie of small bracelets where i will use two white pieces of, attach the part that goes in my ear and voila! I have new 70's looking earrings ;D Lots of glitter will look great as well I think, but it might be too much allthough... ;D

Earrings... I just had the image of plushy dices as earrings. LOL! Talking about image, It works when pasting the link directly in the browser: www.tripletsandus.com/80s/19224.jpg Those are longer than yours, but it shows what I mean by "crêpés". If you get some silver glitter and make up, you could even use that instead of some of the spray net and have shiny hair too. ;D

Hmmm... okay, if I were you... maybe just a little bit of silver/gold glitter and mix it with some colourful glitter(whatever you call it) and I dunno... use it with your eyeshadow and other make-up or something? I think... being spare with this stuff is key to not going "over the top".

Yeah, I asked my mum to do the Crepe thing with my hair, but she prefers to put in big rollers, I dunno about tht, i don't want to look as a sheep ;D As for the make up, I'll need to see a few pics from that time so know how to use the make up. But knowing me, I hate make up, might even go without anything but a bit of glitter on my shoulders ;D I'll make sure to have a picture made of me and my boyfriend before we leave and hopefully i'll be able to post it before I leave for Spain.
*edit* Oh and btw, I found a pair of purple sunglasses that will fit the rest of my outfit ;D So no need to put too much stuff on my eyes huh?

I might change my idea of doing my hair. I don't really like spays and gels and stuff, so I've been looking around online and found neat hairpins with coloured feathers, in orange, pink and green. This might do the trick. If it wouldn't be that hot in that place I would've choosen an afro wig. ;D

Gal...... I think you should get a big afro wig, still put the feathers in it and spray it different colours as well........ that way you can cover all bases and still fit in with the fancy dress theme....... I am sure that no matter what you decide you will look awesome. I hope you have a wicked time there babe x

Oï, I don't think you'll keep those glasses on long at a night party like that... Using them as a hair prop and putting feathers on them directly would be cool and costume-like, though, in addition to remove annoying hair from your face!

Great idea Fille, the glasses will only be when I make my big entrance ;D, but yeah, I'll use them as a prop, but I'm gonna look for a glitter hairband, might be even better to keep my face free of that annoying hair, especially when it's getting really hot in there. Otherwise I'm gonna start looking as a dried out plant ;D

Mind that there must be far worse places than a "Foute party" to look like a dried out plant. ;D

We did have fun yeah, but ll in all it could've been better. The bands who performed weren't as good as expected. I think I said it somewhere, but Banarama got booed out, they were singing false, one was singing the chorus while the other one moved on to the next part and so on, Tavares sounded really bad, gibson Brothers were pretty cool and since Travasjie went sick, Q Music called in a replacement act. No less then Freddy Breck, a German Schlager singer only my grandma knows perhaps . After one song he wanted to sing another one, but luckely the dj's told him nicely that it was over ;D Anyway, we looked pretty darn cool in our costumes, but after the "wrong hour" where Dj Sven Ornelis played "wrong" music for one hour, we had to go home, I was wearing the wrong pair of shoes and I was shaking on my legs from the pain in my feet. Not sure if I will go again next year though. I'll think about it ;D
