Okay, I've had a sort of addiction to interactive stories lately. I've got a few that I'm working nicely on, but I've had a sudden impulse. I would like to do a sort of interactive story, but one that is completely chaotic. Don't worry about writing quality, or even much logic (well, try to make SOME sense, but don't fret much on it). Basically, it'll be kinda like a free-writing thing. The title would be something like Every Apocalypse. And the premise would be just that: pretty much anything that you can think will go wrong in the world, will. A giant monster attacks? Fine. Zombies? W/e, that too. Plague? Aliens? Global warming? Storms? Killer ants? Plants? Go for it! The story will basically be your characters dying or trying to survive the random waves of terror of your choice. They can do it in groups with other people's characters, they can do it alone, or they can just meet up with other characters at times, however you want. The style can be what you want too, I suppose. Personally, I'm going to make it a little serious, and a little funny. Either way, its going to be rediculous. Why this sudden impulse? I got the idea from a dream/nightmare I had last night, in which the Cloverfield monster dropped out of the sky onto the road, shaking things up (giving me hell to deal with in traffic...), as well as people trying to evacuate from that and a plague that was happening somewhere else in the city. Pair that with some other recent dreams of fighting and avoiding zombies or people possessed by aliens, and others about crazy storms, and destructive vines... yeah, it put me in the mood. So. If I started this, would anyone join in? Just for lolz? Killerzzz P.S.: Raise your hand if you don't wanna read all that and just want the short version. K.

For me it depends on the commitment you expect; if it's kind of "take it where the last poster left and another will continue after" I might jump in from time to times.

For me it depends on the commitment you expect; if it's kind of "take it where the last poster left and another will continue after" I might jump in from time to times. No real commitment required. They way I was thinking of doing it was, you have your character(s), you jump in at any point, you start whatever hell you like, and you can interact with other characters (of if you wanna be a loner, up to you ;D). You make a post. If it affects others, he/she/they make(s) a post in response, and back and forth. I think it would be nice if alot of us were adventuring/surviving together, but anyone is perfectly free to go solo too. Having fun? Keep going with it. Getting bored? Kill off your character. Or have it disappear or something. You can do that too if you wanna drop one character and make some others. Take whatever tone you want. Etc. Basically, I think this should be some open writing-outlet fun that we can all do together. Killerzzz

Sounds interesting, Killerzzz. My schedule is likely to be a bit erratic, but I don't mind jumping in periodically as time permits. I'll think about it.

So basically it's an RPG story?

Yay! Glad to see some interest! So basically it's an RPG story? I guess it is. ;D Though not as orderly as I've seen most RPG stories to be. No structural rules and formalities. Just so long as we're not completely senseless, we try not stepping on each other's toes, and we're having fun, then all is well. As I'm busy at the moment, and wanna let people have time to mull it over, what's say I get it started next weekend, either Friday or Saturday? Killerzzz

Killerzzz Then I will follow this; any time is fine for me as long as there's no rush and not 5 pages to catch-up on daily.

Yay! This should be fun! On that note, is there actually any preference of comedy or serious? I'm willing to go either way, and maybe a little of both, cuz its hard to see how we could do something this rediculous without it being hilarious. You have choice of sections for this one: RPG or Your Stories. Either is fine Probably gonna be in Your Stories, as we won't be discussing an RPG in there. ;D Sounds cool to me, sure. I'll consider ideas some more in the meantime. Cool. Let the chaos begin! I think I'm gonna wait and see how much time I got to join in ok? Sounds good. And remember, feel free to make your characters fit your availability. You know, even if your char has to pop in and run off. "GUYS YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW! K, PEACE!" Or any other way. Then I will follow this; any time is fine for me as long as there's no rush and not 5 pages to catch-up on daily. *points above* what she said :-) Haven't seen that happen yet, but for this we shall have to wait and see. Though I doubt we'll have any long understandable plot to follow anyhow. Probably just gonna be "HOLEH CRAP" and runnin around. What the hey. I'm in too. Beware the radioactive mutant bears who sing songs from High School Musical and have huge foreheads like the guy from Twilight. Muahahahahaha! D: Nooo!... NOOOOOOO!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where do i sign? ;D i like the idea of spontaneously creating a story post by post xD Here, here and here. Oh, and don't mind that fine print, it's nothing to bother yourself with. Like I said before, anyone can jump in and jump out and do stuff whenever and as short or long as they can/want. Da parteh begins tomorra night-ish (well, it'll be night somewhere ). Killerzzz

I have a preference for no preference. Totally free and random, just going with the flow and see where it leads.

Good question there, Killerzzz... I find, in my experience, that a character-driven story will determine its own tone. That'll come down to the characters and how they're played. A diverse group like this one may play to different strengths. I don't think we'll know how well it works until we start, and maybe not until after we've been at this a while. So I guess I'm saying... far better to let the players determine how serious/humorous the story gets. It makes it more fun for everyone involved.

EDIT: the link will not work once that section is deleted, but Every Apocalypse will continue on the new website. If you're looking for it, PM me or just search the art section (you lazies ).Okay, It's started! Hehe, I just finished watching the extended edition of King Kong to put me in the mood. 3 hours and 12 minutes well spent. ;D Every Apocalypse!Just a little intro. I'm not sure what my thing will be yet, so I'll see what others do for now. Instead I just set a few plot opportunities in place. You can work with them, or set up more new stuff. Let the fun begin! Killerzzz
