Just had to announce that ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaLF8UGr0hQ EDIT: before I forget it (again), video one includes: swearing, analsex, blasphemia towards christanity & islam

Please replace offensive materials with LINKS rather than embedded clips, Kit. Thank you

You can go and replace it, I won´t. Pah.

Next time, I´ll simply not say anything about the content. *annoyed*

And what will THAT prove, Kit?
The entire point of links with warnings is to ALLOW some more adult stuff on an all ages forum without offending anyone.
If you'd simply prefer all adult content to be outright banned, please say so...

Have you ever heard of the NSFW Tag? Like the Linking and commenting about link that EK requires for objectional content, it's there so that people that can't, don't want to, or would suffer pelalties if they saw it, can choose not to click on the link/look at the subject. While those in a different situation can if they choose to.

^ It´s not like the videos do play by themselfs! They still require clicking and it´s nothing offensive you could SEE in the still-unplayed videos.
And I damn warned, if someone can´t read, I wonder what he does on a forum.
But whatever, bann away Eli.

It's just another filtering layer, Kit. Fact is, the forum is open to anyone 12 & up and read by an awful lot of people who may hopefully one day decide to join us. By linking and clearly labeling stuff that may not be appropriate for younger members or that might be offensive, we are simply showing consideration to others. And there's nothing wrong with that, surely? This IS all explained in the forum rules thread, so it can't be a surprise to you

I don´t see the difference between clicking a random link and clicking a video to play.
And I know the bloody rules but I still think it´s ridiculous. It´s COMEDY too, every 3 year old can go to youtube and watch the same damn video.
I´ll just not post anything anymore, whatever.

Don't forget that the board is hosted in the USA...
...meaning it's a legal minefield to any administrator!
(And yes, as a society and its public attitude to such topics any synonyms to hypocritical could come to mind...)

The difference is that most people will read the entirety of a short post before clicking on links. While if there's a video or picture in the post they will usually look at the picture/video as part of the reading process or just watch the video and then read the explaination about the video afterwards. At which point, warnings placed in the text (esp. after the offending item) are surpeflous (sp???)

^Alright aölright, apart from finding that typically stupid ("don´t put pets in microwaves!"- warning stupid), I´ll next time post the warning BEFORE the videos.
Then I´ll post the video as a video. If people still complain they can kiss my ass.

I think a "NSFW: Matured content" tag is more than enough. Edit: Maybe not?

The rule applies equally and universally to everyone, Kit, as do all the other forum rules. I'm not asking you to like it, or even respect it just so long as you follow it in the same way as every other forum member must.
You know the rule is there. It's not hard for you to post a link, nor does it in any way spoil anything linked TO. You're not being singled out or picked on when other people get away with breaking the rule, because no-one DOES break it. So where's the problem?

^I don´t care a single bit about being singled out, that wasn´t really the point, you know.
The point is that the rule does not make any sense.
Marking a video before in the actual post about content and everything should be totally enough, otherwise, I don´t see the point in having a "youtube video" link at all.
I´m arguing out of principle. Pure obedience is nauseating.

Well, people telling me I'm wrong is par for the course. I've changed rules before when better ideas came along (Or when we added new stuff) and doubtless will again.
However, in this case, I'm afraid I still think the rule is right. So it stays.
You can keep arguing the principle if you like, but stick to the rule regardless, please.

^As I said earlier, if all the precautions I took aren´t enough, I won´t post any other video or link at all.
Out of the bloody principle.
