I almost had a phobia of mirrors once, but I didn't let it develop.
Still get to me sometimes, tho. ;D

Apart from the fear of poetry, all those phobias make complete sense to me. When someone is afraid of snow, he might imagine being in an avalanche and die. Someone afraid of theatres might be opposed to the idea of faking reality. And we all know that Gallophobia, the fear of french culture & people MUST be a major problem in the UK...

A friend of mine has a phobia of wasps. It is called "speksophobia", I think.

Well, I don't have any of these... Except perhaps Caligynephobia (Fear of Beautiful Women), which most men probably have to one degree or another. ;D And just about every woman I know (all the way up till age 40 or so) is afraid of getting wrinkles... ;)And a lot of people I know who watch too many horror movies (no doubt) have fear of mirrors.

I must say cometophobia and Barophobia (fear of gravity) are by far the 2 most odd ones 1- How often has a meteor bothered your or your relatives? xD 2- Ehr.. yea... Try without it? My phobia is not mentioned, this sanctions me as a normal person!

Maybe the fear of gravity may be related with fear of heights ;D

It's a plausible theory hildor As the removal of one would render the 2nd useless... or would it?? Maybe fear of gravity is to fear a sudden enormous increase in gravity making us all go PANCAKE?!

Just to be a smartass, Barophobia patients are mainly afraid of the pull of gravity. When they are in a plane that's landing and feel the pressure, they panic.
So it's rather connected to the fear of speed than the fear of heights.
