I get lines all over the page like this:

Just got the same thing, Cleg. Some kind of database error. I've got that on other forums, sometimes, and it usually means they are either being worked on or the servers are over-loaded and the dbase isn't connecting properly.
Either way, it tends to sort itself out in a few hours. Or the owners sort it out, one of the two.
With the Larians on holiday according to Barta, though, we might have a long wait...

Yup, saw that too. And with them on vacation, who knows when it will be fixed again 
It's kinda weird though, the admins are only one day gone and this happened, could it be that someone took over the board?

I don't recall it happening there, I know that much...
I suppose it's possible the Larians powered down the servers while they were away...? But that's just a wild guess.

They never shut down the seerver while on vacation, so I don't see any reason why they would do that now.
It's possible that there is an electric failure at their building or something.

the weather has been very bad in Belgium lately, so I wont be surprised if one of the lightning storms caused a big failure there.

It would, Killerzzz It doesn't look like that to me, though: it'd be a 404 error, I'm pretty sure. May have been corrupted though, which ain't good, either. |

It would suck even more, because of our 100+ pages long story "On the Road again" !
(It is located in the German RPG Chat and it's entirely in German. But Xanlosch always has had an backkup of it.)

But hopefully it's just the servercomunication that faults, and not datacorruption.

Don't panic yet my friends, I'm sure Lynn keeps a back up from the forum as well. And we don't know for sure what happened don't we? So no reason to start thinking the worst case scenario.

First, the forum is hosted on an other server then www.larian.com. Company specialised in hosting forums ( lma278.siteprotect.com/ ). 2nd: It's hard to imagine that there are no daily backups stored somewhere. So at the most you would be loosing a day. 3rd: Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Host 'lma278.siteprotect.com' is blocked because of many connection errors. Unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts' in /home/www/larian/ubbthreads/mysql.inc.php on line 35 There are many possible reasons for this. I am thinking Dos-attack , but most likely this happened when someone is trying to login too many times with an incorrect password and MySQL scrams.
