Rudd moves at last... But on whose side? And will it be too late? I'm really liking this, and Fenris is just making it better...

Written by Mike Carey Art and cover by Michael Wm. Kaluta Special guest artist Michael Wm. Kaluta illustrates this stand-alone issue of LUCIFER. As all Creation crumbles, and demonic armies clash on the fields of Heaven, an earthly sorcerer weaves a potent summoning spell - which is answered by the imp Gaudium. And a foul-mouthed, devious fallen cherub with big ambitions is only the start of his problems... 32 pg, FC 2.75-SHARK DIGGLER

A mediocre and unimportant tangent barely related to the main story. This issue was a disspointment

Hard to disgaree with Hec, I must admit. It seems like a really bizarre point to interrupt the main story. And I really didn't go for the art much, either. With the main story heading towards its ultimate climax, this seems like an odd choice, and even Gaudium isn't as amusing as usual.

When done right, this middle story breathing issues can be good in a long-standing storyline. Neil Gaiman did it all the time in Sandman, and so did Robinson with Starman or even Azz with the Bullets, most of them were excellent but Carey has been hit or miss with those for me.

I'll agree there, Hec. This one has to be the worst, though, I think. It just doesn't work on any level, for me. The main plot is just in far too much motion to allow for this kind of interlude - especially as it doesn't even have the saving grace of being funny.

Rather a forgettable issue, all in all. I didn't hate it; it's just a pointless interlude that doesn't do much. I expect the story would flow better overall without this one.

Just read #67... NOOOO! That just sucks! I must admit I never saw it coming for a second, but it's SO Carey... I just hope there's more sleight of hand in play somewhere...

#68 Elaine has to what? Ye gods, this issue gave me chills. Utterly superb. And doesn't Lillith make a fine case for destruction? I do like Elaine's answer, though... And Lucifer's final gambit. Can't wait to find out what THAT means... Why is it the best issues always feature Elaine?

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a feeling that something bad is going to happen to Elaine?
Excellent issue, by the way. -SHARK DIGGLER

I thought it did issue before last issue, Shark! I was glad it didn't, and I really hope it doesn't...
With Carey, I can't say for sure you're wrong, though... He's a scary man.

And Elaine gets the poisoned chalice! Great ending to this arc, I thought
