Fellowship of the Ring for me.
I love RPG-like adventure and that movie was the best I've seen for that type of experience. (The splitting of the Fellowship and the adventure becoming more painful for the people sort of gave it a little less fun atmosphere for the latter movies, ya know?)

Interesting that three people have each picked one part from the LoTR trilogy so far. I guess that's what a good trilogy will do.

For me the movie of my life has to be Schindler's List. Everything just seemed perfect about that movie.

I'm with Hector on this one. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (extended edition) I really liked The Return of the King, but I think the extended edition added that much more to the movie. It made it even better. Very good line Hector. Tears came to my eyes when Aragorn said it. It was great. Shan

Geee, the movie of my life? Hmmm.... That IS a tough one... I wish I could say there was something from Dragonball, but those movies bite. So, I'll have to go along with Gladiator. Definately. Russell Crowe is a dick, but the movie was the best I've seen. Gladiator is shortly followed (JUST BARELY behind) by the Lord of the Rings Trilogy as a whole.

"Are you not entertained?"
Yeah, I liked that movie, although it bugs me they screwed up the historical part of it badly.
Nothing like seeing the Coliseum in that movie, though.

I think while Star Wars was great (and I loved them) the Lord of the Ring Triology held more depth, meaning and feeling to them. This to me is why I would pick it over Star Wars. Shan

when i read the title of the thread, i thought it means for a movie that reflects your life.
for me, well back when i was younger at least, the movie that screams my name as well as my life will be the indie film God's Lonely Man.
but now i know this thread means Fav Movie of All Time. for me it's an anime film called Grave of the Fireflies. that one can really make me cry buckets.

There's not really a movie out there that's very representative of my life. The closest would be Children of a Lesser God because it explores deaf culture. But though it will give you a perspective on deaf culture, it is still not exactly what I'm going through because I am also an outsider from that culture in some ways.
While I was in college, I was sometimes frustrated by my art classes, and I think the movie Pollock gives you an idea of what I was going through, at least mentally. Fortunately my life isn't like that anymore. Now it's more like Rudy.
But all this is neither here nor there anyway.

Janggut, I've heard of that anime movie a lot. It's often called the most depressing anime of all time by my friends.

From what he told me, your friends could be right. It sounds very, very sad. Shan

yes it is sad but a very powerful film (yeah powerful enough to make men cry) which very very very anti-war. in fact, for me it is the best war film ever as it shows how devastating war is to children. i love the brother & sister character in the film to bits.
fyi, i have watched the film only once but it is enough for me. thinking of it makes me melancholic. still, that is one of the best anime of all time.

I'm not too keen on movies that depress the dickens out of me, but glad you liked it.

In a way I would like to see it, but I'm not sure if I could watch it. I would probably end up turning it off in tears. I cried in Lord of the Rings and I cried in Star Wars and they aren't near as sad as what this one seems to be. Shan
