Coz having a thread for my favourite up and coming singer seems like a great idea She 'Skyeified' Part Of Your World. Sounds pretty cool, too (Click on 'Load game' then 'New Video' to get to it...)

I just got my final birthday gift - Skye's CD! And I got it downloaded on to my PDA so I can listen to it wherever I go! ^_^ Which is great since my car stereo got stolen at Christmas and I haven't been able to afford to replace it. Now I can listen to Skye when I'm driving! Will and I listened to it a bit today while we were relaxing - he likes it. And says that he's not so upset about this Brit recommendation. ^_~ He's still not so happy that I got into 2000 AD - only because of how expensive it is. He understand that it's great and realizes that he'd probably enjoy it as well (sans Dredd), but he's afraid of how much it's impacting my budget. But I just say to that! Any other female singer recommendations? I got a gift card to a local mall that has two stores I can buy music at or books. So I'm debating between more comics that I don't have time for or music which I can download onto my PDA to listen to.

I'm glad you like Skye, Silva I rate her very highly indeed, as you know, and it's always nice when my recommendations work out for people Recent album releases by female singers I have liked include: Counting Down The Days by Natalie Imbruglia - Official SiteTissues & Issues by Charlotte Church - Official SiteAlexz Johnson you know already You should even be able to get her album, I think. The advantage of being American is that you get all the Canadian albums And going back a ways, Lillix. Falling Uphill might be a good cheap option if you can find it in the bargain bins Lillix should have a new album out before too long, and Skye's second album is due some time next year. Fefe Dobson also has a second album either out now or due out very soon - but I haven't heard that yet, so I won't recommend it yet Lene Marlin is a huge personal favourite, and has a new album out... Unfortunately, she's Norwegian, which means I don't have it yet and your chance of getting it without importing is zero...

okay, I've written down Alexz, Joss, Natalie and Lillix. Charlotte Church isn't available yet....
And you didn't tell me that Skye covered Heart of Glass! It's one of my favorite 80's songs. ^_^ I'm listening to the CD a lot, really diggin it.
I'll let you know when I get any of your recommendations and what I think of them. But it may be next week before I can get to the mall.

Cool Silva Looking forward to hearing your thoughts And yeah - Skye's version of Heart of Glass is pretty amazing, I think To even attempt to cover a Blondie track shows amazing chutzpah - but she actually pulls it off, which is one of the main reasons I rate her so highly

hehe. Will liks Skye's version better than Blondie's. I like both, but Skye really did change it, in a good way!

At the insistence of Mr. Elliot kane, I have been drawn over here from Skye Sweetnam's official website where I moderate 2000+ angst-ridden teens. Have mercy on my soul.
Let me just say that Skye is a wonderfully talented young woman, and I'm sure that life around here in her hometown will become even busier than any of us can possibly imagine. Please give her a listen sometime, or better yet, drop by her site. No need to shamelessly plug the link because I see that Mr. K has already done the honours.

And make us spend countless amounts of money on CD's. ;D Not that I mind in Skye's case. She's immensely talented.

Skye is indeed immensely talented I have her pegged as 'Girl Most Likely To Be Huge'. I doubt she will disappoint me

On the road shes on now, 'Superstar' may be a bit of a under-estimation.
