Just so we can learn a little bit about what everyone likes in sports. If I've forgotten anything you feel is important, just throw it on yours and we can all edit as need be.
UPDATED JANUARY 1, 2007.
I just felt it was time to update some of the information on this a little bit, with the nature of sports these days, an update once a year is justified.
Of course, I feel differently now. With the ever changing nature of sports, some of my info here is no longer valid, so updates away!

Good topic, Josh Favorite NFL team: Tennessee Titans Favorite NBA team: N/A - formerly Bulls then Lakers fan Favorite MLB team: Chicago Cubs Favorite NHL team: Colorado Avalanche Favorite Soccer team: N/A Favorite Tennis player: N/A Favorite Golfer: Count me in as a Tiger Woods admirer Favorite Rugby team: my own club, the University of Tennessee rugby club You forgot college sports, for me it would all be University of Tennessee since that's where I went to school. Especially the University of Tennessee Volunteers football team, the Big Orange and White. Titans: Steve McNair, Keith Bullock. I like the Titans more because of Coach Jeff Fisher, though. Also my favorite player in the NFL isn't on my favorite team, that's Peyton Manning of the Colts. NBA: I was a big fan of Micheal Jordan which is why I used to follow the Bulls until he left. I followed the Lakers because of Coach Phil Jackson. Cubs: Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Derrek Lee. Sammy Sosa used to be a big favorite, but... Top 5 favorite athletes of all time? Peyton Manning Kevin Greene Micheal Jordan Randy Moss (you can't help but love him when he's hot) Steve McNair Who do you feel is the most overrated athlete today? Daunte Culpepper (we'll find out for sure this year) How about of all time? Eh, no opinion on that. Finally, (for now anyway) ever play any sports? Football, Track, Baseball, Softball (for my church), Rugby. I've been photographing soccer and track a lot lately.

haven't been following any sports but i do play some in school or when i'm free.
football (soccer for americans) - played since i was a schoolboy, mainly as fullback. badminton - my all-time fav since schooldays, good at doubles & net tricks. rugby - (as in rugby union) tried it in school, loved it but had to abandon it when my dad found out & forbid me to play the game. softball - more of a curiosity than passion, played for a year then moved on to ... volleyball - one of the best sports i've played & it's a lot of fun when playing with buddies.

why did your dad forbid you to play rugby, jags? that's interesting... I thought rugby was more accepted in other countries.

well back then my dad was very protective, a bit too much actually that he forbad (yes, that should the the correct tense rather than present) sports that can be a bit too physical & may have hurt any of his children. had to relent out of respect. (was very sad back then as my school team right from total newbie turned champ in the same year for intra-division then proceeded to inter-division victory)

That happens a lot with parents - sorry about that buddy. My dad let me play rough sports because he himself played them when he was young, I guess. He was recruited to play football for the University of Texas as a linebacker at one point, before he found out he had a back problem that forced him to drop all sports.

ROFL Phil! ;D Badminton is really the only sport I've ever been any good at. Not that I was ever brilliant, but I'm capable. Unless you count Pool as a sport, which I don't. I have a very good knack for the angles

Pool as a sport? Never really thought about it. I think it does require a certain athleticism and knack for hitting the ball just right ... kinda like golf, but in a lesser sense. I think it is a sport... Oh well, I'll leave that question to the philosophers.

Well, nice to have a New York nut around. ;D Rich, what do you think Eli Manning will be like this upcoming season? Better than last season. He's got a better "O" line, and a better rapport with Shockey...oh, yeah--and Plaxico Burress to toss the skin to, as well.

Yeah that will help, having a receiver as tall and fast as Plaxico --- as long as he can catch the ball.
