Petals around the Rose is just the name of the game/puzzle. Forget about the rose.
Here is what is important.
"The computer will roll five dice and ask you to guess the score for the roll. The score will always be zero or an even number. Your mission is to work out how the computer calculates the score so you can come up with the correct answer every time."
Don't try to make it harder than it is. You don't need a fancy algorithm to figure it out, only very basic math skills.

OK, plain and simple.
Roll the dice.
Make a guess as to what the score is.
Press accept guess or whatever the button is called to see if you are right.
Your goal is to work out how the computer calculates the score so you can come up with the correct answer every time.
The score will always be 0 or an even number.
Does that help?

I have found it; but the thing is that they say: "The name of the game is Petals Around the Rose. The name of the game is important." It's a hint, but I was wondering if that would have refered to an expression or something cultural. ;D It's been a difficult one; I couldn't have done it without the hints in this thread, I think. At least not before a while...

Congrats Fille. Now you just joined another group besides the mod squad. You are now officially one of the Chaos members who have solved Petals Around the Rose.

I haven given up on this. While I haven't really had the time to try it - I give up. tell me the answer ;D I'm not sure if I should. ;D Everybody is telling me not to. Even the website says I'm not suppose to give out the answer. Oooooooooo, this is a tough one since I told you I would. I'll have to think about it. You aren't by yourself Peter. Jags couldn't work it out either. ;D

Here's a compromise: hide the answer in a puzzle. ;D

Did anyone here ever play she loves me, she loves me not with a daisy, where you plucked the petals from the central bit of the flower?
