^ Oh I know such people! Kinda hurts me when someone says how "cool" it must be...

People seriously think its cool? That is so hilarious. Silly folks.
I have never had good luck with psychiatry, except for the one guy who refused to see me until my thyroid problems were under control. I think he probably would have been a very good shrink if he said that.

Übereil It's not cuz you need a shrink that it's also a cool thing to have one. some people don't need one at all but still have a personal shrink. When you talk to them they go like: When i came back from my shrink the other day.., or, my shrink said this or that...they tend to mention the shrink every half hour or so, just to make sure you know they have one

Well, I think everyone needs a therapist when push comes to shove. Most people are.. uh, slightly kooky? And possibly a psychiatrist since I don't think most people remotely understand how medications interact and affect them. The pain management doctor I went to kept trying to get me to go because I have such weird responses to meds, anyways. Ehh.
Oh gosh, remind me later that I have a really good rant about the pediatric pain management program. The world renowned pain doctor who just was an idiot with me, bah. I went on so many different pills because of that woman! She kept insisting that if we just found the right one, everything would get better.

^ I know that problem Ash :/
I never (NEVER!) get the right dosis of anything, I'm agewise an adult but weightwise a child and docs don't get that and so I'm alays overdosed, which results in me having any side effects the little paper inside the packages can possible mention (apart from "sudden death" - so far..)

So, I'm bumping this because I think everyone should rant some more.
I had to go do a sleep study (Ended up being on of the worst medical experiences I've had) a few weeks ago and haven't been able to really sleep since then. Occasionally I get more than three hours but its never restful and I can't really get to bed before 5am.
I also think I'm going to end up having more surgery on something in the next few months and also spending a month in an eating disorder clinic. And my fibromyalgia has been crazy, along with horrible brain fog and my memory is getting so much worse.

Meh Ash that all sucks heaps....
You've to go to a ED clinic? That'll hopefully help, I guess not sleeping and all doesn't exactly help an ED :/
Can't "beat" your current ordeal, just in terrible stress because of all the German crap (see forum news thread), doesn't exactly help my schizo stuff that I have to do ALL the talking to so much (unknown) people and have to give out details of my privacy 24/7 lately...BF can't help because he doesn't speak the language but he tries to, at least, distract me when we have to travel by train so much (I have a huge problem being in trainstations with stairs, when people are in front, in my back and to both sides of me on the stairs, makes me incredibly paranoid).
Family isn't helping (as usual) and the few friends I have, have their own troubles (one is about to break off her uni studies, one is obsessed to become a male burlesque dancer and third decided that with now 24, he finally needs a solid GF).
Being at my parents still (only until Nov 1, thank Epicurus!), also makes it impossible to eat right, which really would help me with my schizo-problems at the moment (the right diet can help my paranoia - ye, really!).
I want a feta salad and lots of camomille tea >.<'

I think its reached the point where I have to. Finding out about all the allergies (equals new restrictions) has trigged anorexic tendencies and it just isn't good. Lack of control over anything. And I still can't sleep! Missing so many classes.. I keep forgetting what is going on. My OCD tendencies/rituals are getting stronger. Blehh.
I'm glad you're out of your parent's house by now. Are you doing better with eating? I'm so sorry about all the stresses and paranoia. I wish I could stick you in a giant protective bubble where only people you liked could enter. Always feel free to rant here! Or you can always PM me if you don't want to do it in a public place.

Is it me or are there some incredibly sickly and afflicted people on these boards?
I don't really have any medical rants. I rarely get sick or injured, and when I have, I've been well taken care of by doctors.
I like the dentist because of the nitrous oxide given when a cavity is filled - first experience being high.

It's the six's week here in Germany and the six's week I'm sick. I got the sniffles in the plane from Singapore to Munich and ever since I have all flu symptoms (fever, sniffles, coughs, aches, ...) I finally got my bloody health insurance card so I can go to the doc tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing: "SIX weeks and you are coming NOW? ?!!?!?" - so anyone knows what kind of flu goes on for 6 fcking months?

It could be worse... We could be on a pharmacy board. ;D What's wrong with a pharmacy board? Well, the vast majority of people seeking pharmacy stuff are sickly and afflicted; or hypochondriac. ;D And if you happen to spend some time with a pharmacist on the job, you'll find that peops tend to talk to them at long and at large about their health problems (and lots of other stuff as well). Sometimes it would seem pertinent to put a psy there as well. ;D
