Sorry - I may not have been clear - the numbers are to be used individually - combining 3 & 2 to 32 is not valid.
What's that (5^(4/2)) + 3 = 28 in nomenclature I understand? Oh - you mean 5 to the square (5 x 5) ?
No - also incorrect - I said the basic 4 arithmetic principles.
And please - how about indicating a) to d) in your respective answer.

A little math in between? No dirty fingers dismanteling carburators and fuel pumps to find the cable from there to the oil lamp, which is hooked up to the same fuse? a) 1/2/3/4: ...... = 28 b) 2/3/4/5: ...... = 28 c) 3/4/5/6: ...... = 28 d) 4/5/67/. ...... = 28 You must use ALL numbers per line, and you may only them ONCE - combine them by adding,subtracting, multiplying or dividing as you please, but the result must be 28. (No cursing, while figuring!) No need to dismantle the fuel pump. I had inadvertently disconnected the lead to the oil level sensor which was in series with the fuel pump. I reconnected it and VROOOM the engine started right up. Remember me. I'm the only guy you'll ever meet who used a vacuum cleaner to diagnose an automotive problem (though my brother-in-law used a soccer ball to fix a dent in my fender once).

Placeing all but one white marble in one of the boxes improves his chances to allmost 75%. There is then 50% that he picks that white marble, and 50 % that he picks from the other box, where about 49,5 % of the marbles are white. That gives allmost 75 % chance of surviveing.

Actually reminded me of another one.
A young prince is imprisoned by the man who usurped his kingdom, and is told that his fate is to be left in the hands of the gods. The next morning he will be taken to the temple of Zeus, and will be asked to take a grape out of a velvet bag. There will be two grapes - one black and one white. If the prince selects the white grape, it is the will of Zeus that he should live and he will be allowed to go free. If he draws the black grape, he will be executed.
The prince knows that the usurper is an evil and treacherous man, and so will undoubtedly place two black grapes in the sack.
How does he escape execution and get to ride away free?
