I have finally got this site to connect for me. And I love it. Reminds me of the line from the movie "My Fair Lady" where Henry Higgins mentions in song about the English language not being used in America for years. People say we speak English here, but I wonder maybe they should say that we speak American. Shan

Reminds me of the line from the movie "My Fair Lady" where Henry Higgins mentions in song about the English language not being used in America for years. Ever read/seen the play Pygmalian that My Fair Lady is based on? I studied a scene from the play quite a few years back for an acting class. I rather like the play, but it is a lot of fun to see/hear all the songs in My Fair Lady.

I have never seen the play done. We had to read it for Lit class in school. It was alot of fun and I really enjoyed it. I thought Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn did great jobs as Henry and Liza in the movie. And as you said the the songs were great. I know the movie was quite different from the play, but seeing it made having read the play even more enjoyable. Shan

And I was just being silly. Your bumpity bump bump reminded me of the thumpity thump thump line from Frosty the Snowman. I liked this thread, because there is a world of difference in alot of the words we use and all of us say we speak English. I found the comparison of some words interesting. I really don't think that is true though. I think we speak American and you guys are the ones who really speak English. Shan
