This might have been inspired by Kylia's one for animal favs, but it might not have been. So, tell us, what's your favorite bug? Why? Show us? You know: the works. For me, I'd have to say that its the Praying Mantis. They are just really cool. They are preditorial guys with clamp-like claws as their front arms (looks like they're praying --> praying mantis) and a wicked bite. I know; I've spent alot of time catching them and letting them crawl on me for the amusement of little ones. When these guys get you, its hurts! ;D Also, a fun fact everyone seems to love: after two mantises mate (intercourse ), the female will proceed to bite of the male's head, and lay the eggs by his corpse so that when they hatch, they got some yumyums to eat. These guys have been an important part of my childhood, so that helps them get their fav. And the one's I see are either brown (female) or green (male). Green is my favorite colour; +fav. Killerzzz

Hmmm, nice topic as well Killerzzz ;D
My favo bug, I have two in fact, one is, don't be surprised...the butterfly!! ;D I love the color of their wings, they kinda look like fairies and I wouldn't be surprised if I ever saw one sitting on a butterfly ;D
My second favorite bug is the lady bug. Allthough it's a fierceful predator, they do a lot of good in the garden and they are protected by the law here in Belgium. That is why I don't use chemicals in the garden to kill the other bugs.

My favorite is also the Butterfly...I have "Butterfly Bushes" in my yard to attrach them...they work...have had some beautiful ones come by... Is this the kind of bush you are talking about ss? Butterfly bushes (Buddleia davidii) rank high on the list of hummingbird and butterfly attracting plants. They usually bloom from mid July through frost, producing abundant flower spikes which look and smell somewhat like miniature lilacs. Butterfly bushes sometimes die back to the ground during the winter and then sprout new growth in May or June. Even with a late start in spring though, they grow rapidly and reach a large size before blooming begins in July. Butterfly Bushes are deer resistant and drought tolerant.
