Hey guys, let's start a thread for natural remedies that work. The old time remedies thread I started was for fun and has alot of things that no one would want or should try. All the good ones are getting lost in there and no one will be able to find them. If we do this then all the good natural remedies that are known to work will be easy to find. What do you guys think?

a lump of ginger will reduce/cure nausia (ginger beer will do just as well if it's made with real ginger, but ginger ale won't work)

Good idea Shan, I was thinking too that this should indeed be better to seperate them. The witch woke up! Herbal remedies, my kind of thing. I hope it's that I post them here? Or do you rather want a seperate topic about herbal remedies?
To prevent yourself from musquito bites, take the peel of a lemon and rub it over your skin. Your skin will smell like lemon and musquito's hate that smell. Vinigar will do the trick too, but then you have to deal with the smell
To sleep better, fill up your pillow with dried lavender.
Feeling a bit down, having the blues? Have some St Johnswort. St. Johnswort contains dozens of active ingredients, such as hypericin, pseudohypericin, protohypericin, and hyperforin. Because of these active ingredients, it is wise to purchase liquid drops, tablets, or teas so that these ingredients are controlled. Always follow the directions on the package and check with your doctor before taking any herbal medications.
There are other uses for St. Johnswort as well. Some of the phytochemicals in St. Johnswort are believed to be helpful in HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, and in the topical treatment of herpes viruses and first-degree burns, cuts, and wounds. Research continues into the use of St. Johnswort in easing the pain and swelling of arthritis and fibromyalgia and the discomfort associated with menopause.
To clean your urinal system, drink lots of cranberry juice.
Dandelion has a zillion utilities, here is a link to Dandelion uses

My father has a good one, that worked on me. If you have warts, before you eat or drink anything, you need to put your saliva on them, after a few weeks, they dissappear and never come back. I didn't believe my father, but I tried it anyways, since I was so embarrased about the warts on my hand. They have gone in no time and I never had them back.

Honey is a natural healer. Eat it when you're sick, or hurt, and it helps speed your healing. Also, if you have a sore in your mouth, scoop a spoon of honey, and let it dissolve in your mouth, preferably on the sore. It should help get rid of it. I don't know if this actually helps, but I like to think it does. ;D Just don't use some common, cheap, store-bought honey. Try to get as close to the natural stuff as possible. The kind they would have had in the old days. Killerzzz Honey is a natural antibiotic, if you put that in tea you will feel better after a few days. If you have a sick bird or a cat, put some honey in their drinking water, but wait after the temperature of the water is a bit colder, or you kill the antibiotics in the honey.

Another good remedy against a cold is syrop from the Elderberry. A few spoons of that will heal your cold soon. But watch out for your clothes, the stains wont ever go out!

The Honey Bee, which is fast disappearing, has been used to alleviate arthritis....
Let the bees sting the area a few times, and the arthritis is greatly relieved and sometimes completely goes away...only drawback is the bees that sting die...
