Some lifeforms disappear even before we get aware of their existence... Magnolias are cool; and rare and seem difficult to grow, at least around here. I only saw a tree-sized one once and in blossom it's awesome.

Very true, Macbeth.
The collective shrug of the shoulders to all the weird bee extinctions recently proves that. Without bees we're all doomed, but the number of people who even seem to find that concerning is very low.
