Some more great pieces, Shan. I like all of them. I'm fondest of Sentinels and Firestarter of the latest pieces. All of them have a really wonderful sense of detail to them, though. Whelan just has this way of making these really bizarre landscapes look believable. And yeah, Firestarter was a movie about a pyrokinetic. I think it was based on a story by Stephen King, IIRC.

I love firestarter, mostly because it's the darkest picture around, but what strikes me is, that i love 'Sentinels' 2.. and that's not a dark pic at all xD

Does anyone else see a face in the rocks behind these two or is it just my imagination? Dragon Strike

Some more good pieces. I like Death Wears Many Faces best, followed by El Dorado. Both of those show good use of color. I particularly like the look of Death, and the way the purple contrasts against Death and the landscape. Dragon Hatchlings... I could swear I've seen that before, somewhere. But I don't remember where. I want to say it was a cover to one of Anne McCaffrey's Pern novels, but I can't swear to it. I'll have to look into it.

Dragon Strike is also nice, by the way. That's another I am pretty sure was used as a cover, but I don't recall where offhand. Still prefer Death, though.

Great colors. I also like the moon, planets or whatever in the background. The guy in front is kinda cool too. Space-scape

@ Shan the movie you are refurring too is Carrie from Stephen King allright (ask the movie freak ;D )
My favorite is "End of nature 2" I just love the lila and purple shades in that one. And the way those girls are looking over the edge...takes my breath away. "Passage of the avatar" is beautiful too, like that gate is standing up, it's like a palce without it's king... Well done Shan!

Hey, glad you enjoyed the info about Glimpse. I love the metaphors in paintings, those pieces that demand a bit of effort to appreciate fully... The spheres with a glow in it (Hope, Passage of the Avatar) seem to be a particular symbol too, as well as the ammonite shells... I love Nightmare in red; it's not really beautiful but it's great. Hope and End of Nature 2, so-so, though I love the trees and birds in this one. I like Sentinels a lot and Passage of the Avatar appeals me too. Death Wears Many Faces is a twisted one, interesting. Eldorado is cool; now that is one that would be worth seeing bigger. ;D It would have been even better with more contrast in the colors, though. The 3 lasts I like so-so, Dragon Hatchlings the most. Now that you mentioned it, I can also imagine faces in the rocks... Even a Moai like in Easter Island in the far higher one. ;D

Sorry, Kylia, the movie I was thinking about was not Carrie. Steve got it right. The name of the movie was Firestarter. I looked it up and it stared David Keith (father) and Drew Barrymore (daughter who started fires using her mind). It said is was made in 1984 and was a novel by Stephen King. This is the movie that the picture reminded me of. Great going Steve. ;D
