Pool punch well above their weight in the CL, and I'd honestly not be surprised if they won it again. Man U & Chelsea will both be really hungry for it, though, and both have some vital players returned from injury at the right time. Milan are the only non-English team left, and that in itself will inspire them - they're playing for Italy now as much as for themselves. They could all win it. I love this

I dont think Milan players care about winning it for Italy, even though Totti told them to after he lost to United. I'm liking their chances though because they have played their B Squad for the last 3 Serie A Games and still won, so the starting 11 will be very well rested and ready to go.

That'll make it harder for United, especially with Ferdinand out injured. He's the lynchpin of their defence.
United always work on 'If you score four and we score five, we win' though, so I'm not counting them out yet...

United 3, Milan 2. What a good game. Kaka made United defense look like nothing on both his goals, especially the 2nd one. And he had 4 other very good chances to get his hat trick but couldn't finish it. He looked like he really ran out of steam, with Gilardino satying so far up field and noone else really helping support him. But then Maldini goes out to leave Nesta by himself, and its Milan's turn to look rather ordinary in defense. I know you guys only get to see a few of Milan matches, but it is becoming all too familiar a tactic of Ancelotti's to sit back and rely on your defense whenever they have an advantage, no matter how much time is left in the game. You'd think they would have learnt their lesson from Munich in the 1st leg, but the stupid coach keeps doing it! They even finished the game playing a 4-6 formation to resemble Roma, only lacking the pace Roma's midfielders have. It was so frustrating to watch, but at the same time exciting. Oddo did a decent job on Ronaldo all game. Dida did horrible on the first goal, made some really nice diving saves, then blew it once again like he always does in injury time. What a tool he is.

United never, ever, give up. It's why they win things...

United's defence really got punnished on the first goal. Carrick strayed on the wrong side of Kaka for a moment at the same time as the midfield let Seedorf turn up and pick out a pass. Extremelly well done by Milan, they cut through United's defence like a razor through warm butter there. On the second goal United's defence looked like nothing because they were nothing. They screwed up. It should take something exeptional to go through three defenders, and that wasn't very exeptional (it was good, but not enought IMO). And it was the guy who gave the ball to Giggs on injury time who screwed it up for you . Rooney's quick shot fooled both Dida and the defender there... Übereil

yup. But Kaka's header down on the ball to push it into space between Evra and Heinze was brilliant. But I do agree it should have taken more than that to beat 3 defenders. And it was Brochi who gave the ball to Giggs in injury time. His horrible first touch let the ball fall right to giggs and the rest is history. After he gave up the ball he sulked for a second too before he started running back to defend. He was the man who came in for the injured Gattuso so yah. Hes garbage. I still think though that Dida was retarded for giving so much room on the short side and covering rooney to shoot the ball to the far side of the net, especially since he was running toward the open side of the net. He should have done much better to block that shot. Pool and Chelsea just about to start, and the winner is just a formality really i still think, because whoever wins that matchup will just go on to lose to either United or Milan in the final

I hope for Chelsea, because then United have the chance to first "steal" the League from them, then Champions League, then the FA-cup... Can there be a better ending of a season? Übereil

Chelsea 1, Pool 0... So both semis can still go either way on the return leg. Love it

If Chelsea don't play Joe Cole and Gerrard is on top form, Liverpool can still take it. If Chelsea play Cole and Gerrard is NOT on top form, Pool are doomed...

No... But he is often the difference between Chelsea winning and losing. He might not score many goals, but the ones he scores tend to be really important.

Sounds like Wayne Rooney to me... Only that Wayne Rooney is United's best scorer this year . Übereil

All this fuss over 1-0, Peter ;D Seriously though, Pool have a proud history in Europe, and they always seem to punch well above their weight. Just a matter of seeing who joins them, now...
