First, I know this isn't the most popular board here at Chaos but I want to apologize for not doing much the past few weeks. Just a little burned out I suppose, but I'm rested and am ready to do what I can to get this place going. So, the Super Bowl is the Colts vs. Da' Bears. It should prove to be an interesting match up I believe. We have that awesome Colts offense vs. the awesome Bears defense. And we have the Colts D (who knows what it will be) against the Bears O (who know which Rex Grossman will show up?) Personally I think the outcome of the game hinges on Rex Grossman. I mean, can Peyton beat a UF QB? I kid. In all seriousness though. Everyone knows that when Rex plays bad, he plays BAD and the Bears are quickly knocked out. And even when he plays well, I don't think Rex plays that well. I do like how Da Bears seem to be trying to score on every play. They play very aggressively. I think if Rex can avoid stupid mistakes, Da Bears can win. I don't think they have a problem rushing the ball 50 times if that's what it takes. For the Colts, I still think Peyton is going to have to play better than he has. That isn't to discredit what he did vs. the Patriots, but we all know Peyton can do much better than that. As the game gets closer, I'm sure I'll have a lot more to say, but that's enough for now. As for a prediction? I don't think so, I have some more time to think about that? One thing I can promise though... Prince doing the half time show will suck. If the networks are so scared some musician is going to do something outrageous, then don't even bother. I mean Prince? Who the hell knew he was even alive...

I lied, I have one other thing I REALLY wanted to mention.
I am so tired of hearing everyone talk about how two black coaches are in the Super Bowl, and how they look forward to the day it isn't an issue. Well here's a NEWSFLASH for you all. It only STAYS AN ISSUE BECAUSE OF YOU! Something like this happens, and everyone makes a big deal out of it instead of just saying, "oh the Colts and Bears made it to the Super Bowl." I personally look forward to the day where people don't make a big deal out of this.
I posted this elsewhere and went on a little more, but the rest isn't necessary for this forum. Neither is this sentence I suppose, but whatever. ;D

Lied again, one other thing I want to mention. Special teams! The Colts have to tighten them up, if they play that bad again, Hester will probably take 2 back to the house, and Indy can't afford that.

I'm still angry My Ravens lost to Indy, even though they held Manning to a horrible game, but now that its down to two teams, I want Indy to win

Yes, very annoying. Who does everyone have winning the game by the way?

I think the Colts will win... ....but I want the Bears to win.
So far, Bears are ahead 14-9.
Wild game, so far -- there were 4 turnovers in the first quarter ALONE.

Vinatieri MISSED!!! YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! They might as well not even remembered to call that timeout, at the end of the 2nd quarter It's often little field goals like these that mean MORE, later on in the game, if it gets REAL CLOSE...

Well, I'm going to start with what I thought the Bears biggest problem was. Rex Grossman. How this guy continues to keep his starting job, I'll never know. He had four turnovers all by himself and they were stupid, dumbass mistakes. He just plain sucks.
I thought the Bears defense did pretty well considering they were on the field for about 80 plays. They kept their team in the game, and gave the Bears a chance to win. But that doesn't matter when your offense can't score.
The Bears special teams overall were pretty good. Devin Hester's KO return really set the tone early, and the Bears kicking game did well.
For the Colts, on offense they obviously played pretty well. They moved the ball better on the ground then I thought they would, and they made the Bears pay for going for the ball instead of going for the runner. Peyton played pretty well overall, making some big throws under pressure.
On defense, hey, most anyone can look good on D with Rex Grossman on the other side. Seriously though, Indy's D stepped up at critical points all game, and of course sealed the deal with the INT returned for the TD. Indy's D has been good all post-season.
Indy's special teams were VERY suspect, allowing a KO return, a missed FG, and a botched extra point, but at the end of the day, it didn't matter.
Overall, I think the better team won today. I figured Rex Grossman would have to play well for Chicago to have a chance and he completely imploded. I'm happy for Peyton. He's a great QB and he deserves to win a championship, and I'm glad he won't have to hear it like my favorite player, Dan Marino, about never winning because his team couldn't get it done. Indy's defense and running game really stepped up this post-season, and it's a well deserved victory.
No matter what happens from here on out, Peyton will no longer have to hear all the unfair criticism about him. Congrats Colts!
By the way, the AFC has won 8 of the past 10 Super Bowls!

Hey guys, this is really interesting. If you go to the NFL page at espn.com, there is a link near the bottom that has a photo of all 40 previous Super Bowl rings and a story about them. So if you've ever been curious to see what they look like, here is your chance. It's interesting to see how much fancier they get from the 60s/70s to the 80s, 90s and beyond.
