Thought I'd start a thread where you can say some of your best sporting experiences: maybe your team grabbing victory when all looked lost, your team winning the league etc. I actually went to the Chelsea-Leicester Carling Cup (football/"soccer") match last night and on 87 minutes we were 3-2 down. Sheva popped out of nowhere and levelled it with a clinical finish. With only seconds to go , most of the players were in their box and it nearly went in about 3 times. Finally it came out to Shevchenko again and he scored again. (though I think it actually went down to Lampard eventually). Obviously the crowd and the players went crazy. Of course, it makes it all the better that I was actually there watching it live. I know it was only Leicester but it was a great game to be at. So what's some of your best sporting experiences?

Do we have all day? I could seriously write a whole essay about this.

Heh, write about whatever you want, Venom, doesn't matter how long it is. I only took one example but I'm sure I could talk about it for ages as well.

England vrs Germany in Euro 96. The Germans finally won on penalties, but it has to be the best match I've ever seen. Pure class on both sides.

Best sporting experience definitely was my high school winning the state championship. Nothing else has felt so special as actually experiencing a championship firsthand and knowing you had contributed towards it.
Nothing beats it.

Funniest experience was when my High School was playing a very important game of Basketball, we had a guy that could dribble the ball like an All-Star...There were no time clocks in those days and the score was 40-42...
The coach told the guy (Jim Gregory) to stall with dribbling and run out the clock...the fans were screaming to the top of their lungs "Shoot the Ball"....but he ran out the clock....and yes, the coach looked at the scoreboard wrong....We were the ones behind...!!.. ;D
He lives in infamy to this day for instituting the "Harry Hall Stall"
;D

HA! That is hilarious! Bad on the whole team though for no one to notice you needed a score!

My worst experience is 8th grade basketball.
I went for the three pointer, and it went in perfectly. Right as it did, the coach called time out. apparently he called time out like right as I shot. The ref said it didn't count =/
He called time out to take me out of the game =/
I'm not gonna lie I was pissed.
