Who do you guys think should get the job - and why?
I've got it down to three: Jose Mourinho, Fabio Capello and Harry Redknapp.
Mourinho is a superb manager and will force the wretches to shape up or he'll ship them out. We need that badly.
Capello has a fantastic record of winning things, but his English is very poor, which might count against him.
Redknapp is great at getting the best possible results from quite ordinary teams. He's also the only English candidate worthy of mention.
All three know their football, and any one of them would be a great choice, IMO... So I'm betting the FA prove once again that FA is what they know about football by appointing Dopey MacDumb...

I think either Jose or Harry Redknapp would be the best choice as they can both motivate the players, clear out the clutter and hopefully get England going places again. There's something about Capello that makes me think he just won't suit the job well. I don't think he'll be able to connect with the players as well as the other two and they already have experience in the English game. Of course, knowing the FA, they'll probably bring in Billy Davis or Alan Shearer or something...

I hope they pick Arsen Wenger. Arsenal has become disturbingly good...

Wenger would be great - but he wouldn't accept. He's turned down France numerous times to stay at Arsenal, so there's no way he'd leave to manage England. Unfortunately.

Jose seems to be incredibly interested. Meanwhile, Redknapp may well be out of the running after he got interviewed by police over possible corruption in the game. Even though redknapp himself doesn't seem to be under any suspicion, the FA tend to be very nervous if there's even a hint anywhere near one of their choices. Shame. Harry coulda been good. I'm still hoping the FA finally get in touch with Mourinho, though. My top choice, really.

Looks like Jose just declared himself out, annoyingly.
Capello is still being talked about and he sounds like he wants it, so - we shall see...

It doesn't matter who is chosen until the team get off their over paid arses and find proper English fighting spirit, which has been sadly lacking for some years now. once we have that back we can start worrying about re-claiming our place as the best in the world.

We need a manager who'll inspire that again, though. Preferably by subbing the players who are playing badly rather than making Joe Cole the scapegoat, as usual...
Our last two managers have played players because of their names, not because they were playing well - particularly Lampard & Gerrard, neither of whom has played half as well as they should for England in a very long time.

Looks like we got Capello, which is good. A genuinely world class manager. If he can't sort out the useless shower currently masquerading as the England team, then something's very wrong with the players...

Yep, at the moment I'm pretty happy with Capello being hired. I would've prefered Jose but Capello certainly has the credentials and should get England on the up again.
Get rid of the clutter, hammer it into players that aren't performing that they're not having an easy ride anymore, find a system that doesn't resort to lobbing up the pitch and we'll have the world cup back in no time! ;D
