This forum has a somewhat special use, in that it is not designed specifically for any one subject. This is the place where anyone who wishes to try their hand at writing a column or other long article may do so.
There are no schedules, no set subjects, and no editorial imposition, except that all columns should obey the normal posting rules.
Also - no vitriolic attacks on organisations or individuals, are allowed. Using a column to try to start a fight is definitely not on. Nor am I interested in fighting with other web sites, so no 'Why i Hate Web Site X' stuff either, please.
Just because you write an article on films doesn't mean you can't write a column on music or current affairs next time. It's your choice. You control your column.
You don't have to submit anything. Just do the following:
1. Write your column or article.
2. Post it here.
Simple as that
You will retain all rights to your own work, obviously
For those seeking more guidelines, the following might prove useful:
1. A column or article usually addresses a specific point, be it a character, the works of a musician, a type of film or anything else. It might also consist of reviews or be an opinion piece, but it will generally speaking have a single focus (For example, it might be comic reviews or music reviews or film reviews - but will not usually combine any of those things).
2. A column or article is far longer than a normal post. We're talking pages, not paragraphs.
3. Remember you are addressing an audience, so try to keep them interested
4. Find a good name for your column. Names are a good way to attract readers
***
Anyone who wishes to comment on a column/article may do so at the foot of the column. Please do NOT start a new thread in the column forum in order to comment.
Most of all - have fun! This forum is here to allow you to experiment, have fun, and learn from each other if you wish to do so. Enjoy!
