A visionary man, who was inspiring to me as a young reader. Tribute and respect to a man who by careful monitoring of scientific development envisioned future trends with an accuracy that would have shamed Nostradamus.

Yeah, I heard about this. I hadn't read a tremendous amount of Clarke's work, but I always enjoyed what I had read from him. 2001 and the like in particular. He very much earned his status as one of the great masters of SF. Clarke lived a very long and full life, but it's still sad nonetheless. We've lost far too many great talents lately. He'll definitely be missed.
