How do you like them, and what recipie do you use to make them
I use the basic flour, 1/2 pint of milk, and an egg,
Beat the eggs in with the flour and slowly add the milk until you have a thick batter.
I like to cook them with bacon (fry a couple of rashers of bacon in the pan, then pour some batter on top)
With cheese (cook the pancake as normal, then put a couple of slices of cheese in the middle with some herbs and wrap the pancake round it while still in the pan)
and sweet (while in the pan put some honey and cinamon on the top of the pancake and then wrap and serve).

I'm still trying to figure out how to make cinnamon and sugar pancakes. The last time I tried, I couldn't taste the cinnamon, so I guess I didn't put in enough.
Oh and I use bisquik - so easy. But one of these days, I'll try it from scratch.
I once bought a premade mix that was apples and cinnamon - it was very very good.
I'm gonna have to try the cheese pancakes - I love to melt cheese in my scrambled eggs, so why not in the pancakes too! ^_^

SilvaShado > Try adding just a tiny bit more cinnamon and this time add an ever so slight amount of nutmeg. The nutmeg helps bring out the cinnamon flavor. Also, fry your cakes with butter or margarine only. Never use oil or grease for cinnamon pancakes. Tsel

I have a major sweet tooth and I love pastries so I make my pancakes sweet. I mean sweet like a little child likes sweet. I guess I’m still a kid a heart. I usually use a pancake type pre-made powder mix like Bisquick, but then I add a half of cup of powdered sugar and then a 3/4 cup of instant powdered cheesecake mix. I fry until golden brown in butter or margarine and then I make them float on my plate with either Blueberry or Boysenberry syrup. I told you I had a major sweet tooth. ;D Tsel

Another varition I've seen is to slice up a banana and place that in the middle of the pancake with some chocolate (spread or chips) and wrap it up and serve. If that doesn't satisfy your sweet tooth, I'm not sure there's much that will

I’ve never used chocolate on pancakes before, but I have added bananas to my mix before cooking. I usually let my bananas ripen as much as you would for making banana nut bread. Tsel

I'll give it a try - I've been looking for the "perfect pancake".

Traditionally, we roll them, and put whatever we like onto the pancake before we roll them. My personal dream is blueberry pancake, made this way. YUM ! Cheese could be of use as well, or any kind of jam. I even know one or two restaurants in my area dedicated to pancakes, they are called "Pfannkuchenhaus" (= "pan cake house"). They are very popular here ! By the way, a grandmother of mine once said to me to put a little bit of sparkling mineral water into the mixture to get the pancake more ... what's the word ? Not so thick, I mean.

I make my pancakes like the Crépes Suzette 500g of flower 1L milk 2 little bags of vanillin sugar 5 eggs Put the flower in a bowl, make a hole in the middle, put the eggs and the vanillinsugar in it and mix the whole thing, slowly add the milk little by little untill you have a fine soft and smooth paste. Cover the bowl for an hour or so before you start baking, remember, your first pancake must faile!! So, put a little bit of butter in a reallyhot pan and start baking. Don't forget to flip them over, We in Europe make very thin pancakes, not like the ones you see in America. Just a picture to compare: Europian pancakes American pancakes You see the difference? EU pancakes are flatter and larger, but we mostly eat them with sweet stuff, like jelly and chocolate. Is there a big difference between those two kinds of pancakes?

I'd imagine that american pancakes are made to a different recipie as I seem to remember they are more fluffy and sweet than our pancakes...

Here it is half-half; some make them flat, some make them thick. As for me, it's super-flat, with the edge even a bit crusty. I don't add anything to the dough while cooking; then I put butter and maple syrup on it, roll and eat. I never grow tired of that. ;D

My favorite is blueberry pancakes. I've made them both ways, thick and thin. Most of the time they are the small ones too. Shan

Plain pancakes with lots of syrup and no butter, coming up. Do you want big ones or little ones and why no butter? Oh, and I guess I should warn you I'm not the best cook. Do you mind if they are a little burnt? ;D Shan
