I got a question for you guys. I have been admiring Rembrandt's famous painting The Night Watch
One thing i'm wondering about is, who is that girl in the yellow dress?? I thought it's Rembrandt's daughter, I read on wiki that the little girl is a ghost. Can someone give me more info about this painting? I saw it in Amsterdam in bronze statues too, and the little girl was in there as well

Interesting question. Perhaps it was the 17th century equivalent of the gratuitous scantily clothed female we find in modern works of art such as movies and video games. Please post the answer if you find out.

It's so cool that they made a scene of sculptures after this painting... Very striking scene.

Yep, the Night Watch would definitely have been much better with all these new characters in it; easier to understand, too. ;D

Think I found who that girl was, her name is Cordelia, a orhpinage girl that Rembrandt took in as his own daughter, since he lost his baby girl. Not sure though about that story, I read it in a Suske & wiske comic book ;D

Suske & Wiske for the win ;D I think there's a high chance that could actually be true, because it seems a serious explanation for a Suske & Wiske comic book (it doesn't seem intented to be funny or made up).
