Ok great, something like that might help me over my phobia perhaps? So I messed around with the spider and threw it even off screen ;D But the bad thing is, I can't kill it and as we are october now, my house is visited almost daily by big black spiders that I'm still not over my fear

Heh. Reminds me of a story I heard. A neighbour of mine lived out in the country. One hot Summer, her brother was sleeping near-naked on his bed. Half-asleep, he was lazily swatting at insects that kept on landing on him. Finally he opened his eyes to see several hundred newly hatched spiders dropping from the ceiling onto him and his bed!
He was out of there very quickly!

YIKES... One question: don't they spring-clean during summer? I know it's hot but to have a few hundred "possibly venomous" cretins crawling around is ... mind-blogging.

It's out in the country. It'd take no time for spiders to crawl into the roof space and when your sprint cleaning, often you don't bother with what's inside the roof.

Damn... don't they have any solutions for keeping the spiders off the roof?

Well, you can pesticide the place, but that only lasts so long. Spiders are just a fact of life. I'm in the suburbs and there isn't a day I don't see a spider in our house. Half of them I ignore, scary ones get thrown outside, and dangerous looking ones I've never seen before get squished. The spiders eat any insects that get into the house, and when they wander outside, the birds eat the spiders.
So long as they don't reach dangerous proportions, such as nesting, it's not worth worrying about.

Ooh much like the lizards and roaches(including the flying types) we get in Singapore then. ;D

I'm always kind of morbidly fascinated to hear about living in places where such small critters can almost kill you (or at least, make you very ill) before you know it. A bit like living in places where your home risks to be completely destructed every few years... Winter seems a decent price to pay not to deal with these things to me. ;D
I heard some people were able to make the Flash spidey jump; anyone found out how yet?

I heard some people were able to make the Flash spidey jump; anyone found out how yet? Check the box where it says "user control" and then press "J"
It also follows your mouse even when you're not clicking or dragging your mouse. If you grab it and shake it then throw it away (off screen), that's the part I like best! ;D

I made the spider jump once with the mouse. I think I stabbed at it and it got startled. I've tried to replicate it, but I can't.

Lol, I hadn't tried the user controls; only with the mouse making it follow it, feeding it and dragging it around. My sister works in a place where she had to take care of a mygale looking like that and those shed hair that gives hives reactions when you touch them bare-handed.

Actually, now that I think about it, aren't crabs related to spiders? Gods... now I don't want to eat crabs anymore.

Probably distant enough for you to enjoy your meal in peace. ;D Interesting trivia: snow crab fishing was rated one of the most dangerous jobs in the world...

Good! Now I'm relieved! ;D Btw, this site must have helped me with my fear of spiders, cuz this morning, I dared to kill another one with my shoe! And again it was a big one, but there were reasons why I had to act quickly. It came from behind my computer, was low enough for me to hit it and it was kinda running fast. Now the remains are lying next to my desk as a proof for my bf when he enters in 30 min ;D
