Good! Now I'm relieved! ;D Btw, this site must have helped me with my fear of spiders, cuz this morning, I dared to kill another one with my shoe! And again it was a big one, but there were reasons why I had to act quickly. It came from behind my computer, was low enough for me to hit it and it was kinda running fast. Now the remains are lying next to my desk as a proof for my bf when he enters in 30 min ;D Yay for conquoring the mini-beasties! I always struggle to understand why people are scared of tiny creatures when they can see them. I can understand them sneaking up on you being scary, but if there's a spider in plain sight on the wall, then there's no way it's going to catch you. This is coming from someone who is petrified of falling into shallow water... (and deep water as well.)

Dude, it's not the size but those damn eyes and legs.

Actually, now that I think about it, aren't crabs related to spiders? Gods... now I don't want to eat crabs anymore. This (click) is about how close they (among others) are related. Probably distant enough for you to enjoy your meal in peace. ;D Gah... I can never get out the image of a crab with spider's eyes legs out of my head. Heh... didn't know that. Then again, I think I've never eaten snow crabs before.

I think it may help that HEF is Australian, too. An Arachnophobe in Oz would die of fright inside about ten minutes, the size some of the spiders get out there ;D

When my mother was pregnant of me, she got frightened of a big black spider on the door knob right before she reached for it. And my parents used to lock me in the basement when I was naughty, that basement was dark and full of spiders. Hence why I'm afraid of them and small spaces
And the land of Oz is known as the biggest spider continent of the world, I wonder if I ever have the courage to go there

The biggest one was like at least 5 to 6 feet long and around 3 to 4 feet wide. And then, its' legs... oh gods, thick and furry. And it'd like some really giant eyes too... must've been half the size of my mouse at least. And I'm really thankful that the zookeeper chose someone else instead, to "hold" that darn thing! ;D Since I don't know if I could've survived that.

I'd just stay away from "spider-infested" areas.

Me too; a 5-6 feet long spider must weight enough to break any poor kid under. Just messing with ya; I'm not afraid of spiders, but big ones like this would make me shiver of disgust at least a little... Even without fearing them, I wonder if some people can ever come to find them pretty. Snow crab is fished in the arctic seas and is very expensive... We get it seasonally here. The price is a direct consequence of dangerous fishing it is.
