no bees = no pollunation = no flowers n trees = no photosynesis = no more oxygen = X( *dead*
not a good look that dead thing.
the cause is probably linked to climate change, or at least will be. It has been rianing a bit more than normal in the summers (wot with the floods of 07 n such) and if it rians the bees tend to stay indoors. hmm :/

Interesting how such small buggers can cause so much trouble with being absent. I hope the cause will be something that can be fought and that the impact will be a bit less troublesome than it appears.

Is it just me or did I hear something about that mentioned at the beginning of The Happening? I wonder if its some sort of long-term but temporary fluctuation of causes currently unknown; a rebalancing of some sort. Killerzzz

Wikipedia has good info on the phenomenon here and here, occurring on both continents. Note that those affected are primarily the domesticated honey bee specie and that there are thousands of bee species.
