Hey Nero, Long time to speak. Sorry for that.
Seriously, was it that good or are you just THAT much of a transformers fan?

Okay, my short review. Compared to the first one? Better action and comedy movie. But worse Transformer movie? Let's explore that. For now, lets say its just as good as the first movie, if not way better. Like I said, the action is great, and practically non-stop once it gets rolling (pretty much from the start). Optimus Prime has been working out or something, and kicks major ass. The comedy, they take to the next level. I laughed my pants off. Over and over. ;D This is in part helped by the fact that they went up from a PG level in their comedy to something in between PG and R (PG-13?). Lets just say that in both these departments, they didn't hold back, and you are grateful for it. But I've heard a lot of people complain about the first movie, saying that the Transformers were all secondary characters and the humans steal the set. Well.... This time, the Autobots are really pushed aside (I felt). Familiar faces? Prime has a limited part (for good reasons though), Ironhide is brought in, but he gets, what, a few lines and several people saying his name? Bumblebee even feels like he should have had more character. And the others? Not even there. They introduce some characters. We have the Twins who were basically the primary Autobot characters (they were funny, but I'd rather have had different main Autobots). There were also three motorcycles, but they hardly had a part. Would have been cool do develop them, if only for the reason that we'd have some female transformers going around for once. As far as the Transformers go in general, this one was really about the Deceptacons. They got a bunch of time given to their characters, which was admittedly interesting. Story? Cool. Effects? Cool. Acting? Cool. We lose a bit of the awe in the face of the Transformers that we got in the first movie too, but hey, that's to be expected. It's not our first time seeing it anymore, right? But the first movie did hold more awe in the way they did the scenes too. Overall, like I said, just as good, if not better than the first. If you like action movies, its a must-watch, no doubt. If you like action-comedies? Its more than a must-watch, if that's possible. I'm sure I could pick at a few plot things if I wanted, but I don't think its necessary. Killerzzz

I have to agree with killerzzz, for the most part.
The twins definately were the "biggest" autobot characters and were, IMO, funny as hell. Having said that I would like to have seen more of the autobots, not least of which sideswipe (the wrote in an autobot assult expert and then didn't use him), having said that I loved what they did with jetfire. Having the old vet play on his aging abilities was pure brilliance.
And lets not forget wheelie, once again funny as hell.
As for the decepticons, the only one worth a mention really was ravage (sorry I'm not counting wheelie as a decepticon). He was really well done. Although I did like the new soundwave.
So yes in a nut shell not a bad movie at all. Not going to be winning any awards (except poss for cgi), but it could have been a lot worse. I will certainly be picking it up on blue-ray as soon as it's out.
