I've joined another RPG campaign (Vampire:the Masquerade, so I'll be playing a vampire), this one starts in 1990. I've decided to replay an old character from another campaign, IE our Hunter campaign (where he hunts vampires, amongst other things), to see how he'd act out in a new setting.
Anyway, this includes rewriting my background so it takes place in the 80's instead of in the late 90's-early 2000's. This means new clothing, new hairstyle, new style of music (though I think I've got this one covered already ). I also need an old car his girlfriend's parents might own. They're middle-class/slightly upper, so is it likely that they have a second car even? And in that case, what's the best way to get hold of a car to go on a 60 mile (100 km) trip and then stay there for a while?
If you know any high school movies from the 80's that would be greatly appreshiated too.
Info on the characters involved, so you can know what kind of clothing they'd might wear. The first one is my main character. His name is Peter, and he's into chemical biology and karate. He doesn't really have any friends, but that's more due to him being hard to connect with. In the modern story he wears low profile clothing, meaning short, black hair, black t-shirts with popular culture prints (Buffy, Korn and stuff like that) and jeans. What would be the 80's equivalent of that kind of clothing?
Then there's the women. The first one is Rita, the social butterfly. She's blonde, and wears pretty trendy clothing I imagine. Not super trendy at first, but the second part she's in she does. The other one is Susanna, Peter's girlfriend. She's not the trendy kind, dressing with thrifty class. She looks nice but not fashionable.
So, any help would be appreshiated! There's freebies* to collect! ;D
*I get freebies to spend upgrading my character's stats based on how well my story represents the 80's. It doesn't have to be perfect, but if he's wearing Buffy and Slipknot t-shirts I think I can kiss those freebies goodbye... ;D
