Today was the birthday of Nikola Tesla, the inventor, genius, and borderline mad scientist. Screwed over by Thomas Edison and greedy men, Tesla was a far-sighted engineer who designed hundreds of devices (like the famous Tesla coil) some of which scientists today puzzle over and have been unable to duplicate. Happy Birthday from CNET - Super Mario Theme on Tesla CoilsHe really must have seemed like a wizard to some people, lighting up burned-out bulbs with the help of his body's own electrical field.

One of the foremost scientific geniuses ever, I think. An utterly fascinating figure.

Oh yeah, this guy, eh?
