What nobody made a thread yet? Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween (or holiday on the same day )! I don't have a picture or something to show, but I DO have a nice pleasant little story that happened to me... So, its night time, and I'm working. Suddenly, the answering machine acts up, as if connecting a call. Then a noise emerges, static blurring it. It sounds like something straight out of Silent Hill or <pick your horror movie>. "MrrrurnnmmrkkmrrrshrrrrrrnnnggggggggGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!" As it starts, I think: prank caller. But wait, the phone didn't ring... So I get up calmly, and wake up someone (who was over) who had fallen asleep on the couch watching TV. I say: yo, my answering machine is making some weird noise. Just as they wake, the noise stops... What? they say. I check the machine. There are 0 messages. I finished my work in another room. ^_^' Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!! Killerzzz

I meant to. I am the resident jack o'lantern after all. No time though. Tailgating at the Florida-Georgia game followed liberal imbibing and dancing, while gawking at all the costumes walking down the Jacksonville streets. And the time changed here, so when it hit 2am it was 1am again! An extra hour of dancing!
I actually hate dance clubs. No metal. I eventually ducked out and went to Stefano's for a slice of pizza.

Greetings, fellow Chaosites, on this fine All-Hallows Eve. May any wandering spirits you encounter on your travels be friendly ones! ;D

I've been at a game evening the night before and stayed home for Samhain itself. No rituals I hope to be able to do one next year though.

That's SO typical of my Dad's snore! ;D ;D For our Halloween night celebration, we had a dress-up night! Ate dinner, then watched the movie "Knowing" (which I gotta admit, is really spooky in it's own right).

A belated happy Halloween and Samhain from me too! I was a sherrif (and the only one with the gun). ;D A cousin of mine tried to play pranks on Halloweeners by disguising in a bag of fallen leaves and laying down among a bunch of them, but he had taped his arms in.

A Sheriff with a gun... I'd better steer clear of Quebec during Halloween! LOL, poor guy (your cousin)... I guess (s)he will come up with smarter alternatives in the future!

Halloween was a damned nightmare..... Do you know how annoying it is having a young child and trying to get her to sleep when you have a load of random people ringing your doorbell..... I would have been more tolerant of kids but everyone who rang the bell was over 16!!!!
It got so bad I actually put a sign on my door saying "If You Ring My Bell, I'll Hurt You... You've Been Warned"..... I don't know why but nobody rung the bell after that!
I hate this time of year with a passion....

^ Too weird that someone could hate Halloween... On the contrary, I find it perfectly understandable that just about anybody could hate any one single holiday, or all holidays, or just certain holidays during certain years. There are numerous reasons for hating the holidays, and even then, she didn't say she hated Halloween: she said she hated this time of year. Possibly all the bustle and hustle going around, the sleazy TV commercials, people indulging in the "holiday" spirit... I don't live there, but I find it pretty easy to understand why someone could hate this time of the year, with a passion. (don't worry Kit, I'm not attacking you: just attempting some clarification)

I have to admit, if I were in your position, I would hate Halloween just as much, if not more. Thankfully, here people don't do the "door-to-door" thing, they only "trick or treat" with their extended family/close friends. But even then, Halloween gets basically zero publicity when compared to any other holiday. Idul Fitri (new year on the Arabic calendar), Christmas, Chinese New Year, Easter... They all dwarf Halloween in terms of advertising, amount of people celebrating, tv commercials, etc. I'm starting to think this is almost a good thing.

Under normal circumstances, I don't mind Halloween.... I've always been a fan of it!!!! BUT when you have a toddler/young child that is in bed and all these ADULTS keep ringing your doorbell.... it's enough to drive you insane. twoheadedragon - you are very right.... this time of year does annoy me!!!! It's knowing that at the end of October, people drive me mad with the doorbell ringing and then the next day, all scary things have vanished into the broom closet and out comes the Christmas lights and all that garbage!!!! It's mad..... Just can't handle ridiculous amounts of festivity!!!!

You should take a thumb-tack onto the button for your doorbell like in Home Alone. That'll teach'em. Killerzzz
