(place in art section if need be ) Hello everyone! Killerzzz needs your support! I've entered the Wacom Bring Your Vision To Life Dreams Contest at DevantArt, with a very personal piece. Ever since I was a kid, I was a storyteller. Be it oral, written, or drawn. But I was always unsatisfied with my drawing capabilities. They had always been sub-par. Let's just say I don't have surgeon hands. And my brain-to-hand accuracy is not so good. A dream of mine was to be able to draw like the other kids in the class who were amazing at it. Though I'm not quite there yet, I'm working on it. ;D Now, without further ado, here is the picture. And let me say, it looks a hell of a lot like me (I surprised myself with that), so if you ever wondered what I might look like, consider this. Give it a careful look-over. Find the illusions, paralleling, mirroring, symbolism. This is not my average funny. This is a deep expression of self. If you have any small pointers (I know its a little flawed, but all I can fix at my current skill level is little stuff), let me know and I'll try to clean it up before the entry time closes (sometime Tuesday). So, please enjoy, feed me back, and one of the prizes is whoever gets the most +favorite clicks between 12:00:00 AM (PT) December 16 and 11:59:59 PM (PT) December 22. I probably wont win it, but if its no trouble, I won't say no to the support of any members who have a DeviantArt account. Killerzzz

Any feedback I offer would be based on a deep ignorance and inability for art. So I'll settle for wishing you luck

I share Elliot's inability, but I can always have a(n un-)qualified opinion... I think I'd like the idea of a picture of a penpoint on the back of the white T-shirt. Structure the ear-lobe a bit (It's very much in the centre of focus, and just flat) . The perspective of window and desk do not match. (lower window sill should be parallel to desk surface)

I agree about the ear, but the window is not relevant to the idea of the picture. Too bad though that you couldn't put the stickman in the same position as the two other guys but heck. I like it ;D

Hmmm, technically, there are only 2 things that disturb me in it... The ear of the "You" in green shirt is too high on the head, and the fact that the "desk" seems to be the floor at the same time because of the wall corner being exactly at the corner of the desk (unless this is done on purpose). It might also have been more suitable to choose a more rectangle image format than square, since it does kind of busy and [cropped?] composition-wise. The various perspectives not being realistic doesn't bother me though... In fact there was a whole artistic movements whose particularity was to use "impossible" perspectives to express symbolism or achieve aesthetic goals better. The black part on the upper right corner seems to hint that even the "main" You is from the creation/imagination of another You. It's a cool kind of surrealist image.

Oooo! Thanks so much guys, this is really helping!! @glance Good thing you mentioned that window! I can't believe I didn't notice. As for the ear, I was to scared to try to do details. But you're right, it really draws attention. Unfortunately, I won't have access to my Tablet again until Wednesday night (3 hours before final closing for the competition!). But I'm gonna draw like crazy to try to get a half-decent looking ear. The other fixes I'll have to try and do without my Wacom. : ( @gal Thanks! Yeah, I'll get on that ear. ;D That's a good idea (I hadn't thought of that) about the stickman. But also, now that I think of it, I probably wouldn't have drawn a stickman in that position as a child. @fille You're right, I knew something was bothering me about his [my] head, but I wouldn't have figured it out myself. I'll try to do that without my Tablet. Is it a desk or a floor? Or both?? It depends on perspective. ;D So yes, it was on purpose. I'm not good at planning ahead for my stuff, so I just made a huge 5000x5000 canvas and didn't expect to use it all. I'm glad you noticed that (in the corner). I was worried as the others I showed it to didn't see it! Thanks so much guys! I really hope I get a chance to fix this stuff, because those are some dang rad pointers you're giving me! Killerzzz

So, how is it going?
I thought that the lack of eyes and ear details was a kind of metaphor to hint that they were perceiving just with their mind, that they were kind of blind of senses.

So, how is it going? I thought that the lack of eyes and ear details was a kind of metaphor to hint that they were perceiving just with their mind, that they were kind of blind of senses. Well, just uploaded the new version (cuz I just finished it ;D), and I did the little-ear and window fixes. Unfortunately, I couldn't add any details to the big ear. I tried. It went badly. Trust me on that. I think I'll just hope the judges see things the way you did, Fille. ;D To see the new version, you just need to click the same link at the top again. And here is the old version in photobucket for reference. Although I won't have time to make any more changes before the contest submission time closes, I'm of course still open to opinions and pointers and stuff, and will fix it later on within the limits of my skill. Thanks again guys for those really helpful ideas! And for your support! Thanks for your visit, Cat! Made my day! Killerzzz

Erm... To me the one in the Photobucket link and in the Deviation look the same. Ack! I always put the wrong link somewhere! ThannQ. It should be the right one now. I kept so many versions as I progressed and took so many pictures of myself for reference that I get lost in the files sometimes. ;D Killerzzz

Now I see. ;D At least, it was the Photobucket one that had the wrong link; the contrary would have been worse. ;D
