Well, not really. It's just the newest way to mess with those wretched census people. Funny, though! Full details here!''The only requirement to join our campaign is that you listen to heavy metal, our commandment: everything louder than everyone else.'' I like that Commandment! ;D

I was in a group once, that was named "Happy Metal - for the freedom to choose your kind of metal, no matter if Black or Nu" - we had only a bit over 20 members

The things around Heavy Metal already have created some kind of "following".
I'm concerned by that.
I wonder where this might lead to.
Example : I recently browsed through the BRitish "Classic Rock" magazine (yes, I bought it here two months ago, imported), and there's a shop in it.
What it sells is about 890 % Heavy Metal stuff.
Nothing else. Nothing for other music directions. Almost only Heavy Metal. Not even Blues.
Heavy Metal fans are very quick to state that they like their kind of music. It's like ... some form of cult to me. Like a Brotherhood.
I have never seen anything like that, not in other music directions. Blues is the closest thing I could think of, or Rap-Music.
There's a cliché-like Heavy Metal haircut (or rather - not ! ;D ), Heavy Metal clothes, Heavy Metal signs, Heavy Metal "dancing" ...
There's so much developing around Heavy Metal ... I just wonder where this might lead to.
And by the way - shouldn't this rather go into the "Humanology" section ?

Not really, Alrik, because it's not meant to be taken seriously Metal is just a style of music (Well, several styles, but still), albeit a popular one in a sort of minority interest way. As for 'Classic Rock' magazine, I'm a bit puzzled as to why you'd expect to find Blues stuff in there. If you got a magazine about Blues, would you expect to see adverts for Rock merchandise?

Metal is the most varied breed of music , it has more sub genres than all , it rules all , and is all (THAT RULES ). Others styles are good , I might spend years listening to only PETER GABRIEL or NICK DRAKE or some other easy style , but I always go back to metal. Here are some lyric from OZZY which are appropriate for the title of this thread:
How many times Can they fill me with lies And I listen again Twisting the truth And they're playin' around with my head, O.K. The things they will do and the things they will say But they don't really understand Tears fill my eyes when I hear all the cries For the reason today
And they don't really know even what they're talkin' about And I can't image what empty heads can achieve Leave me alone, don't want your promises no more 'Cos rock & roll is my religion and my law Won't ever change, may think it's strange You can't kill rock & roll, it's here to stay
Lookin' through eyes of time Mirrors reflecting their stories untrue Promises, promises Telling me all of my glories overdue How many times have I heard it before And I'll probably hear it again King of a thousand knights, pawn in a table light Losing to you
And they don't really know even what they're talkin' about And I can't image what empty heads can achieve Leave me alone, don't want your promises no more 'Cos rock & roll is my religion and my law Won't ever change, may think it's strange You can't kill rock & roll, it's here to stay
Even the rhymes that they Give me in times of confession ain't true Outcome is obvious All for them, none for us Meaning you too The things they will do and the things they will say When they don't really understand Fear of rejection, I need their protection I'm making a stand
'Cos they don't really know even what they're talkin' about And I can't image what empty heads can achieve Leave me alone, don't want your promises no more 'Cos rock & roll is my religion and my law Won't ever change, may think it's strange You can't kill rock & roll, it's here to stay
Leave me alone, don't want your promises no more 'Cos rock & roll is my religion and my law Won't ever change, may think it's strange I'm born to rock & roll, I'm here to stay, yeah

Not sure that I would call it a "religion", but heavy metal is quite popular in the strongman community.
