I'd agree with him to a certain extent most assuredly.
The only thing is unified powers can be competitive as well, but it really depends on its internal function.

Yeah, I agree, Terror. It's over-bureaucratization that kills, not the size of the area being governed. Over-taxation and over-regulation are going to kill any nation, regardless of size.
