Looking back, it strikes me that we haven't done a favorite comics of the year thread like we have in past years. So now I correct the record. A little late, but who's counting? ;D
Anyway, I'll set up some categories, and you can either go with these or make up your own. Feel free to explain your choices or not. In true Chaos style, there are no limits, so by all means go with whatever suits you.
So here's my following best and worst for this year...
Best Ongoing Series: Green Lantern.
Best Writer: Gerard Way (Umbrella Academy: Dallas)
Best Artist: Steve Epting (Marvels Project)
Best Event: Blackest Night
Best Single Issue: All-Star Superman #12.
Best Miniseries: The Trial of Sherlock Holmes/Umbrella Academy: Dallas (tie)
Best Hero: All-Star Superman.
Best Villain: The ancient Victor Von Doom from Bishop's future (X-Factor),
Best New Character: Larfleeze (Green Lantern)
Best Revamped Character: the Golden Age Angel (Marvels Project)
Best Retcon: Supergirl, with Sterling Gates undoing her previous Loeb-otomy in her ongoing series.
Best Comic-Related Site: Atop The Fourth Wall.
Worst Comic: Project Superpowers: Bring On The Bad Guys. (The main series is readable even if there's some utter nonsense, but this mini was atrocious. On every level.) Honorable mention goes to Ultimatum for being so notoriously awful that Linkara agreed to review both it and Ultimates 3.
Worst Villain: Norman Osborn. Bendis, there is no way you can convince me that a psycho like Norman Osborn can take over an entire spy agency and then play hero to the world after you had him publicly out himself as the Green Goblin in a comic that you wrote.
Worst Line of Dialogue: "I didn't know she could do that thing with the blasty." (Ant-Man, after utterly failing to recognize that Jessica Drew had venom blast powers even though she was an Avenger for the last few years, Spider-Woman#6)
Might be I'll add more. I'll leave it here for now.

mainly for being able to successfully manipulate both sides in an entire mutant/human war all while suffering from extreme senility. Even a half-addled Doom is still Doom.
