This one can't neatly be categorised, but it's kind of a historical curiosity, in a way, so I decided here was as good as anywhere! ;D Apparently, there is a small village called Seborga whose inhabitants claim that they "should be recognised as an independent state because it had never been formally included in the unification of Italy in the 19th century." They've just elected a new king, apparently. I have to confess to finding this kind of thing absolutely fascinating...
