The Australian schoolgirl attempting to set a record as the youngest person to sail solo around the world will not get official recognition for her achievement because she took the wrong route, according to sailing experts.

What I don't get is how anyone can beet Jesse's record if he did his trip when he was 18 and "the WSSRC does not recognise the achievements of anyone under 18." He basically has an assured position forever due to an arbitrary rule.

Yeah, I really don't like that either, HEF. It's completely crazy that they are refusing to honour the bravery and tenacity of this girl because someone in an office somewhere decided to randomly exclude her. I hope some of your politicos take up her cause and bring some pressure to bear.
