Anybody know of an app or site that will do that? Ideally I'd like to be able to type and see the words appear with their letters in reverse order (redro esrever). Thanks.

I had never seen that, and checked a little online for something like this but the closer I saw were anagram generators. I thought that there might be some special pasting options in software like Word that could do, but there doesn't seem to be any either to what I could see... Did you find anything?

During my training, one of the female members of my group (she was a very good programmer !) wrote an excel program/macro for taking a word and testing every possible combination with each one of the letters. This could take a while for longer words ... I don't believe I've got a copy of this, but at least I can say that it is possible to make such a thing through VBA.

Aha. Now I'm curious, but don't answer if you don't feel like it... What did you want to write backwards for? ;D

I was looking for ironidromes. Ironidromes is a word I coined recently. A palindrome is a word which when spelled backwards spells the same word; An ironidrome is a word which when spelled backwards spells a new word or words that are ironic or humorous in context with the original word.
Here are some examples.
What is a Jewish wife's favorite Chinese food? Wonton because spelled backwards it's "Not Now"
Stan -- my friend came up with this one. -=-=-=-=-=-= -=-=-
While Hillary has been getting illegal campaign contributions from the Chinese, this candidate might be courting the Japanese Romney -- yen mor
The actor who played Kramer on the Seinfeld show got in hot water for racist remarks. Kramer -- remark
Air raid -- diarria
An old ironidrome (at least 50 years old) with a setup line was -- Money is the root of all evil, but evil spelled backwards is live.

Lol, that's cool, an interesting reason; and who knows, ironidromes' paternity might make your fame one day. ;D

It's just a typical example of Walgelc's twist
