(Shan is right. Mr. Knight is keeping a close watch on certain mischievous archers. ;D )
"Aye," Rasidar says, nodding. "Some additional insight may prove useful. And we may wish to discuss our next move before we open any doors."
"The demon and the genie must have been summoned by the wizard who crafted this place," Rasidar replies with a shrug. "As to why, I remain uncertain. I could only surmise that we are valuable to the wizard for some unknown purpose, though I know not what..."

even with Loriana blocking the sight, Homm's eyes remain in the direction of the death in front. all she & Mao could gather from his whimpering remains mumbles & whimpers.
then his eyes roll, his voice changes pitch to that of a young girl. whimpers turn to whispers.
".... i .... am .... here ....".
his body shakes for a while more then stays silent. his eyes close & he falls forward to the floor.

Ash smiles and says "You got it then." She then gets up and walks to the door where Zu and the others are sees Homm on the floor and goes over to Mao. "What happened to him?" she asks full of concern. "Is he OK?"
After Mao answers she says quietly "There were no survivors in the room. Lor and I checked all of the bodies."
Then looking up at Stel she says "The demon room doesn't seem to be trapped as far as I can tell. Mr. Knight and Ced are checking out the pentagram, but he thinks it will be OK for you guys to come in." She then gets a pouty look on her face and says "But nobody can touch the demon. He won't even let me poke it one time just to see if it is still alive. He says that is a big NO NO."

"Damn!" Mao whispers as Homm seems to go through some crisis and falls on the floor. She does her best to catch him as he falls and lay him on the floor softly. She doesn't notice Ash until she calls her name so much she is concentrated, and says "he made some kind of crisis aftter he saw what's in the room and now he seems unconscious." Worried, she checks his vital signs, calling at him in a loud voice.

Stelrein raises an eyebrow, hearing that Loriana went through a similar experience. Of course now was not the time to ask further questions. Facing Ash, he nods, "Thank you." Turning to Zumir, he asks, "Can you provide a cool breeze to blow over Homm, to make him more comfortable, and maybe revive him."
Stelrein looks around to find the skin of green goo, and makes sure that it is tightly sealed. Then he goes back to Mao and hands it to her, "This might make a good pillow for Homm to rest his head upon."
Turning to Ash, Stelrein asks, "Ash, do you think you can find something that can be used as a hood, to cover Homm's vision?"
Turning back to Mao, he says, "If we can revive him, we might want to block his vision from seeing the room again. It also may be the only way to get him past the room."
Quickly turning back to Ash, "If you can't find something to make a hood out of, then look for something that we can at least make a blindfold out of."

Loriana closes her eyes, feeling a little loss of control. Maybe this was just too much for her. She had forced herself out into this room to show that she was okay and to be useful. But she hadn't found anything and she was starting to feel nausiated. She decided she better get back into Zumir's room before she had another scene.
She walked back and saw most of the group surrounding Homm, who was lying on the floor with his eyes closed. She furrowed her brow, concerned that he had gone through an episode like she had. She walked up to Ash and asked, "What is wrong with Homm?"

Stelrein
Zumir gestures with a hand, and a cool breeze blows gently out from his palm, fanning Homm and making his hair ripple gently.

Mao thanks Zumir for providing the cool breeze and Stelrein for bringing the skin. She raises Homm's head so Stelrein can place it under his head and continues to check his vital signs and reflexes, attentive to any reaction. She also tries to stimulate him to come back, if he lays inert.
Hearing Stelrein talking about blocking Homm's sight, she says: "We can always use this, if it proves necessary," by pointing at the piece of blanket she uses as headscarf. "If he comes back to us before then, that is; otherwise we'll carry him past the carnage and it wouldn't be so much of a bad, in a way..."

Stelrein nods, "That is probably going to be the best course of action."

{impatient bunch - next time I'll better warn you, when I'm off a mere two days. Now, let me clean up Cedric somehow, who acted much too much without me}
Cedric had been as baffled as the others by the sight that revealed them after the button was pushed. This is a nightmare come true. "Demons", he thought, "somehow, I've heard of them - but that huge?"
Still at a loss for words he follows Rasidar's request to investigate the remains and the pentagram carefully avoiding to touch anything. He has the feeling he should know something of pentagrams, but can't remember. "Something is odd," he thinks.
{Elliot - what is the oddity?^^}
Finally, taking into consideration what he overheard from Zumir, he loudly voices his thoughts, ticking his fingers as he proceeds.
"So, one, the demon belongs here, meaning it was summoned by the guardians of this place. Though to some extent, that's pure speculation. Two, had Zumir known its presence he would have fought it nonetheless, thereby helping the invaders, if in fact they really were invaders - that's probably a reason for separating them. Three, if it both were indeed summoned by the masters of this place, they were obviously aware of possible attacks, though possibly not of the nature of the attackers, for which they build a defense with opposing forces. Zumir," he interjects, "is it conceivable that other Djinns could attack this place, and how would you react to such intruders?"
Cedric looks at the bodies and wonders, "Maybe the scenario was quite different than what we assume?"
{Elliot - do the bodies have a recognizable uniform design of any sort? If yes, is it only one?}

Cedric
The pentagram is a very obscure one, known only by very learned spellcasters. It is designed not just to trap a creature, but also to drain its power away. In theory, this power could then be used to create or sustain magical items or effects. This is the first working version you have ever seen.
Zumir sighs bitterly. "If my brethren tried to pass this point, I should be compelled to fight them," he admits glumly.
The bodies are mostly burned, but those who are merely clawed DO show some signs of wearing some kind of heraldic badge over their armour. The badge looks to be a gold griffin on a blue field, though you are not entirely certain due to the damage done to the uniforms and those that wore them.

Cedric acknowledges Zumir's answer. "Loyalties can tear one apart."
He then takes a closer look at the remains of those who weren't burnt beyond recognition to verify whether they were from only one or different sides. He finds remnant of badges, torn beyond recognition all, but by assembling parts from various bodies in his mind, a picture evolves - a blue field in which a golden mythical animal dwelves, not clear that one, sphynx, dragon, griffen, something of that sort. But he only finds one kind of badge, no sign of a differing one.
He then focusses on the pentagram, traces the lines, to the extent they are still visible. Drawing it in his mind triggers a memory, a memory of something he has seen, pictures in a parchment scroll he must have held in his hands some time now in oblivion. But still, something appears wrong - the picture in his mind, no, the pictures in his mind! This here is a combination of pictures he saw.
"Listen Ser Rasidar, and help me think," he addresses the knight. "Pentagrams are used to trap, to contain a summoned creature lest it break free and turn against its conjurers - that far I remember. I think I remember that great conjurers can summon and control lesser demons without the help of one. But I seem to remember a picture of a pentagram that would drain magic from a summoned creature - and this does ressemble it to an extent that it appears to be used for both. Not that I would know how, nor have any memory of it ever having been achieved. Now, if I'm correct, than such pentagramm, with a summoned demon, would be a magic power source - and considering the size of this one..."
He gravely looks at Rasidar.
"The bodies here seem to be of one origin, they all wear the same badge." He points at various bodies showing some barely distinguishable traces of it. "Now, whether they belong here or were intruders is not possible to say. But it seems that killing the demon destroyed the power source of this place - and thus awakened us."

Rasidar listens to Cedric carefully, nodding gravely as he hears his thoughts.
"Aye, `tis the most sensible conclusion," Rasidar says. "I fear the demon was used to power the effects we have so far witnessed. `Tis perhaps also why the genie was bound to his single room, and was prevented from hearing the struggle without. The mage wished not the demon slain."
"I would know who the fallen were," Rasidar says, looking upon the carnage with regret. "I can only wonder if `twas their intent to break the power source. These people died to awaken us, though I know not whether they knew it."
Rasidar tries to see if the badge can be removed from the armor. It might be that it could have some use later...

There are only pieces, no complete badges.

Stelrein overhears Cedric's conversation with Rasidar and Zumir. Then Stelrein goes into the demon room to examine the pentagram.
(E - Can Stelrein tell how the pentagram was broken? Earthquake, explosion, etc.)
After doing this, he turns to Zumir and asks, "If I were to bring something into your room, would you know for sure if it belongs to this place or not? And can this object be alive or dead?"

"I don't know, but I can sure give it a try," says Ash with a smile. "I've already checked the room where we awoke for scraps but didn't find anything. I can check the room where the demon is though. Be back in a few minutes."
Ash gets up and runs to the demon room and searches for any scrap of material or anything that might be used for a hood or a blindfold.
*E - does Ash find anything that Mao might be able to use to cover Homm's eyes with? *

Homm is breathing steadily. his body is relaxed. his face calm. and his eyes suddenly open.
he sits straight up, looks ahead with no focus in his eyes. he stays still with eyes unblinking for a few moments before he looks at himself; checking his body, moving his arms, watching his hands & fingers, moving his jaws, moving his toes. after that, he gets up with ease. eyes very focused, face an icy calm with a slight smile on his lips.
he looks around the area, eyes taking note of what is left of the earlier battle; the summoning circle, the dead demon, the bodies strewn around. death. his smile becomes obvious.
he whispers, "..... mine ..... ."
