Gregory's disappearance did not go unnoticed by Carmen, but she didnt pay much attention to it. As she looked into the group that she was to spend a lot of time with all she could see was pure chaos. Peter dancing around, Gregory disappearing, The father and daughter being quiet but none the less worrysome and as for the twins....
She may push THEM out of the airlock if they continue this madness

Eduardo had been silent, politely listening to the others introduce themselves and content to keep the attention off of himself. He was sure they could tell he was a cyborg, even though he knew full well it would be impossible for them to know that just yet. Everything below his solar plexus was cybernetic, but between his artificial skin and clothing there was no way for them to know. Still, each time someone looked at him, he couldn't help but feel that they knew, and would treat him accordingly.
If any of them did know, however, none of them were showing it. A strange bunch they were. He could tell Peter was going to be most irritating. Eduardo really didn't care about Peter's sexual orientation, but the man was far more perky than any man should ever be. And he didn't seem to respect anyone's personal space.
Marius and Julie.....the girl must take after her mother. Not that Eduardo disliked Marius. The man seemed to be doing what he could to provide for his daughter and seemed to want to keep to himself, qualities that Eduardo admired. Still, he knew it would be tough getting Marius to be a team player. Not so with Julie; she seemed quite agreeable, if also naive. But what pretty 18 year old girl isn't naive, after all?
Vying for the distinction of most annoying teammates along with Peter were Jen and Jes. At this point, Eduardo had no idea which one was which, and it seemed that they wanted it to be this way. Hardly the way to build a foundation of trust. Perhaps the doctor could make himself useful and verify which was which.
Karl........Eduardo was unsure what to make of Karl. His confidence bordered on arrogance, but perhaps that was a good thing. Every group needs a strong leader, and Eduardo had no desire to be it. Karl seemed like a natural; as long as he backed up his strong talk with strong actions, Eduardo would have no trouble answering to him.
Corina though, seemed to be equally determined to lead the group as well. This could spell trouble; it was never good to have more than one alpha dog in the group. Hopefully, one would prove superior to the other and the matter would quickly be settled. So far as Eduardo could tell, both would be up to the task......
Eduardo's train of thought was broken by the sound of Spanish, something he had not expected to hear. He turned and saw that it was coming from a young woman who looked quite similar to himself, tanned skin, dark hair and eyes, a little on the short side.....que bonita! Eduardo sat straight up in his seat and listened to her attentitvely.
"<"My name is Carmencita Ibanez. Formally of the Allied South American Army, were I was a trained pilot and communications officer."> She smiled
"For those of you not versed in culture" She said almost in a derogratory tone "My name is Carmencita Ibanez" She looked across the room, "Formally of the Allied South American Army, were I was a trained pilot and communications officer."
Forgetting for the moment that he was trying not to draw attention to himself, Eduardo addressed Ms. Ibanez directly.
<Ah, you speak Spanish? Me too. I am from Allied South America as well, from the region that used to be called Honduras. Where are you from?>

Peter puts his hands on his hips and huffs dramatically at Jen and Jes. In a pouty voice, he speaks, "You're just a couple of meanies! Just for that, I'm not going to tell you your nicknames!" he goes stomping back to his seat. By that time, Gregory has reappeared in his original seat.

Sergeant Harden frowns slightly at Jen and Jes, "Now, now. It's not nice to call someone crazy. He's just special. We're all special in our own way, after all." She smiles around the room, glad that everyone is getting to know each other, "Now that we've introduced ourselves, let's try some trust exercises. Everyone pair up please, and not with someone you know." She looks pointedly at Jen & Jes and Marius & Julie.

Karl's eyes narrowed very slightly. His biggest problem was most likely to be Marius, so therefore...
Approaching Marius with a pleasant smile, Karl asks, "Would you care to team up with me?"

"Oooooo, did Mr. Huff Huff get his feelings hurt," calls Jes. She then looks at Jen and they giggle. "I think Mr. Pouty fits him better," says Jen with a grin and they both laugh again.
**************
"Hey, don't blame us," says Jen. "Yeah, he started it by asking us to lick his stupid popsicle sticks," says Jes. "Yuck," they both say together.
Jen and Jes whisper something to each other, look around the room at the others and then whisper some more. Finally Jen looks over at Peter, grins and says "I'll take Mr. Huff Huff on." "And I'll take Julie, if it is OK with her," says Jes.

Peter smiles broadly, runs up and hugs both the twins, "No one has ever given me a nickname before!" he says as he bounces up and down on the balls of his feet. "I want both nicknames!"
He asks Jes, "Can you call me Mr. Huff?"
He asks Jen, "Can you call me Mr. Pouty?"
"And if I have two nicknames, then it only makes sense that you have one!" Peter grins, "JJ, for Jen & Jes!"

Corina watches as some approach others. She looks around and wonders who she could trust. She glances at Gregory, still sitting quietly in his chair. She smiles slightly, remembering his compliment. She stands and walks swiftly to him, she extends her hand, "Would you like to pair up with me?"
Gregory looks at her and says, "Sure." He stands up and takes her hand.
Corina nods, shakes his hand and lets go. She stands next to him, waiting for further instructions.

Carmen turns to Eduardo, she says curtly, <I am from the area known as Chile.> Carmen sighs inwardly. She was trying to escape her home, yet here was a reminder of it all. She looked around and saw that nearly everyone had paired up, not that she had wanted to pair up with many of them. She turns back to Eduardo, deciding that she'd better get to know him, to decide whether she'd push him out an airlock with the rest, "Would you pair up with me?"

"I am from the area known as Chile. Would you pair up with me?"
Eduardo, in his excitment at meeting someone who he can relate to, doesn't pick up on Carmen's brevity. He replies, in Spanish, <Ah, yes, yes, of course! It looks like we are the only two who aren't paired. Wow, I wasn't expecting to meet a fellow Allied South American here! This is great! And you're from Chile! I've always wanted to go there, it must be so beautiful!>
Eduardo is startled by someone loudly clearing her throat. He looks around to find that everyone else has paired up and is quietly waiting for further instruction. Drill Sergeant Harden is looking at Eduardo expectantly.
"Sorry everyone", Eduardo says sheepishly. He gestures toward Carmen, "We are ready, Sergeant."

"But you didn't give me a chance," says Jes with a pout. Jen looks at her a moment, then smiles and says "OK, you can be J. I'll be J." "You want try to take it back?" asks Jes. "No you be J and I'll be J," says Jen with a grin. Jes smiles and says "Deal." Looking back at Peter, Jen smiles and says "OK, Mr. Huff, you've got yourself a deal. You can call us JJ. Just remember I'm J...." "and I'm J," says Jes with a smile too. "And I'll call you Mr. Pouty." "And I'll call you Mr. Huff," adds Jen smiling at Peter. "This is going to be fun. I like nicknames." "I like nicknames too," adds Jes with a smile. "What nicknames are you going to give the others?"

Peter holds up his hands, "Hold on, hold on! Now are you J," pointing to Jen, "Or are you J?" poiting to Jes. "Or is the other way around? And if that's the case, then which one is really J?" Peters makes a mock face of being very confused. And then sighs dramatically, "Well, don't be surprised if I mess up your names. As for the others," he points to Gregory, "I'm pretty sure he'll make a good Putsy, as I said before. And I think Ms Ibanez is a good name for Ms Ibanez," he whispers in their ears," very controlling..." he speaks louder again, "As for th rest, I'm open for suggestion."
Gregory blinks when he hears Putsy.

"No, no, no," says Jes. "I am J and she is J." "Yeah," says Jen. "She is J and I am J." They then look at each other wondering why Peter is so confused. "Tell you what," says Jen. "What if we help you out?" "Yeah, says Jes. "What if every time you mess up our names we tell you?" "That way you will soon learn who is who," says Jen. "Deal?" asks Jes.
"Putsy," says Jen. "He looks more like a Gory to me." "Or a Greggie," says Jes. They then look around at Carmencita Ibanez, look back at Peter, lean in close and whisper to Peter "She looks more like....." "....an Ibby....," whispers J. ".....or a Nezzie," whispers J. "....or maybe a Banze," whispers JJ. "And the guy with her.....," whispers Jes. "......who said his name was Eduardo," whispers Jen. "......how about," whispers Jes. ".....DoDo for him?" whisper Jen and Jes together.

Peter says, "Okay JJ. It's a deal!" he glances over at Gregory, "You might have a winner with Greggie." then looking over at Carmencita, "Banze sounds funny," then he looks at Eduardo, "I don't know about DoDo. He could be more of an Eddie, or Eddie-baby." Looking over at Corina, "She'd make a nice Cory since her name's Corina. Still not sure about the others, Peter eyes Marius, Julia and Karl.

The girls then look over at Corina and say together "Yeah, she looks like a Cory." They then look at Karl, Marius, and Julie and whisper to each other. Then looking back at Peter Jes says "We need time to think on those 3. Although that Karl guy thinks he's such a big shot........" starts Jen. "......we could always call him Mr. Big Shot.....," adds Jes. ".......or Mr. Know-It-All," says Jen. ".....or Karlie," says Jes. "And as for the guy who calls himself Marius," says Jen. "He's the girl's dad, so we could call him "The Father." "Or Grumpy or Grouchy," adds Jes with a grin.

Peter snaps his fingers, "I got it!" pointing to Eduardo, "His last name is Del Sol, which means of the sun. So he should be called Sunshine! I'm not so sure about Karlie over there... Maybe Mr. Big or Kurly. Marius would make a nice Big Daddy or Dadoo." Peter scratches his chin, contemplating Julie, "I guess we could always have another J. J J J" he says slowly.

"Oooooooooooo," squeal Jen and Jes. "Sunshine. I like that." "And I like Kurly for that Karl guy," says Jen. "I don't," says Jes. "I like Mr. Big." "No," says Jen. "He already has a big enough head without us calling him Mr. Big and making it even bigger." "Ooooo," that's right," says Jes. "I hadn't thought about that. OK, if Mr. Huff likes Kurly then that is what we'll got with."
Jen looks over at Marius then looks at Jes and asks "Big Daddy?" Jes looks that way and says "Hmmmmmm, Big Daddy, yeah, I like that, and how about JB for the daughter?" "What do you think, Mr. Pouty?" asks Jen. "Remember you are already having trouble with two J's." "Are you sure you want JJJ?" asks Jes.

Eduardo was beginning to lose his patience with the doctor and the twins. It was best to nip this little nick-naming thing in the bud. Perhaps the others would follow his lead. Glaring at the doctor and twins, and with all the authority he could muster, Eduardo unleashed.
"Excuse me, but I refuse to be referred to as "Dodo", "Edo", or "Eddie-baby". And I most certainly will not be addressed as "Sunshine"! This isn't grade school. We are adults, we have a serious mission to carry out, and I suggest that the three of you begin to act like it. You will refer to me as "Eduardo" or "Mr. Del Sol", and that is it. Do I make myself clear??"

Sergeant Harden frowns at the confrontation. She had hoped that nick-naming would bring them closer as a group, but it was obviously not working. She turns to Jes, Jen and Peter, "I think it's best not to force nicknames on others. Nicknames are things that should develop as relationships develop. If you force things, it may actually create a wall between you and the ones you want to become friends with. I suggest you three apologize," she looks at them sternly.
