(Shan, u know it's more in-character for Ash if she kicks Homm out of his sleep ;D)
one of the pieces of meat lands on his cheeks. he slaps it, as if it is some bug, then takes it & throws it into his mouth. he chews it a few times before his jaw goes slack. he snores.

The girl in the corner catches JJ's eye. When she starts throwing food at the young man asleep near her, JJ giggles. Mischief sparkles in her eyes as she says under her breath, "Ah wishen Ah had some food. Nothin' like a good food fight."

Stelrein watches curiously at the interchange between Zumir, Melissa, and Rasidar. He is about to ask a question when Mao speaks. He stores the question in the back of his head to ask later and concentrates on Mao's words.
After she finishes, he asks Mao directly, "Did you serve a specific town, region, or lord? Indeed, I agree Rasidar's identity will be something to guard when we reach the outside. Perhaps each of us, in our own way, is also connected to this place. Maybe everyone's identity should be kept secret."
Stelrein rubs his chin in thought as the piece of meat Ash threw flies by toward Cedric. Still looking at Mao, he continues, "It is rather obvious we each come from different places. This too might be something to guard against revealing." Stelrein's eyes loose focus as he thinks once again.
Slowly gathering his thoughts carefully he speaks, "We need to hear this legend in full to determine whether to hide our identities in any way."

Rasidar nods at Mao, seeing the wisdom in her observation.
"`Tis hardly a secret I could conceal amidst the group," Rasidar shrugs. "Nay, not even if I wished to. In any case, I suspect that a proper discussion of how to proceed shall depend upon this information. `Tis not a thing, however, that I would wish to impart unto others. Still... aye, your point be well taken.
"From this point onwards, I shall make an effort at discretion," Rasidar agrees slowly. "Though I find it most unnatural. `Tis not a thing I am accustomed to... to pretend to be other than what I am. And yet `tis only sensible for the good of the group to conceal my nature. There are many who would wish my Order harm, and I would not wish to endanger any of you.
Rasidar notices Ash throwing food at Homm, who goes on to snore. It seemed they had little interest in revealing themselves to the group. For a brief instant, Rasidar betrays a slightly confused glance at the whole scene. Ash seemed so open, so willing to socialize with others, and yet when offered the chance, she went silent. He sighs inwardly. It was always like Ash to confuse him with her ways. Still, it was her choice and he would not question it.
Rasidar finally regards Stelrein with a grim nod after hearing his observations.
"Aye, `tis crossed my mind," Rasidar agrees. "`Tis time for us to discuss what has taken place, and what we might yet do.
"According to the Lady Melissa, the world outside has changed, and none for the better. Davor has fallen to a conqueror known as Lord Gryphon. I know not his purpose, nor his intent in claiming the kingdom for his own. This is something we must learn upon our escape.
"Yet what remains clear to me is his intent towards Project Awakening. Lord Gryphon was willing to slay many to prevent Veryn from achieving his goals. `Tis not unreasonable to presume that we may all be in dire peril should Lord Gryphon learn of us, and of what has transpired here. Certainly the Lady Melissa may be hunted for her own involvement in this matter. By traveling with her, we risk being hunted ourselves. I shall not abandon her in her time of need, but `tis fair to warn you all of the risks we all face.
"Fortunately, we have the advantage of surprise," Rasidar says. "Lord Gryphon may not be aware of us at present. In the eyes of the world, we may not even exist. The Lady Melissa is likely presumed slain. As long as we do nothing to indicate otherwise, `tis hope that something may yet be done. We must maintain secrecy about our existence... at least until we know more about the world outside.
"As to whether the legend might aid us... I know not," Rasidar says. "`Tis danger in relying upon prophecy, though it may promise salvation. I know not for certain who the legend even speaks of. I cannot claim to be any figure of legend. `Twould be presumptuous of me to interpret the Great Mana's will in such a fashion. Yet `tis possible that knowing the legend in full may prove useful to us. I cannot say."
"I think it best to review what we have so far learned," Rasidar concludes. "Perhaps in reviewing what we know, we may gain insight on what must be done. Anyone who has anything to add may do so now."
Rasidar looks to each of the others in turn, awaiting their responses...

{wrt You can ignore anything that I assume if you want. I think it would be in perfect character for Homm to do so. - any player can ignore any action another player has assumed for the first's character - that's what part of our discussion was about.}
Cedric startles as something hits him - opening his eyes he sees another piece of food flying towards him from Ash's direction and with a quick move of his left hand catches it before it hits him. Frowning at Ash he says, "I said I am listening!" He takes a bite from the piece he caught and leans back again, silently chewing.
{Elliot - would our characters remember the last PLACE in Davor they've been at? - is any of the clothing we found marked, respectively obviously distinctive of this institution we awoke in, or is it neutral to the outside world? - should it be distinctive, would it be in a way we can recognize?}

Cedric
Though you think hard, you cannot truly recall the last place you were in before you were brought here. Your mind seems to shy away from the memories for some reason.
The clothing you have found carries tailor's marks, yes, but none that you would recognise.

Ash looks at him innocently trying hard to give the impression of "Hey, don't look at me. I'm innocent. You don't think I threw that do you?" Then seeing the look on Ced's face, she knows she can't fool him and she bursts into giggles. Taking another piece of food from her lap she quickly throws it at him, covers her face with her hands, lays them on her knees and bursts into giggles.
Seeing the look Mr. Knight gives her when he notices her throwing food at Homm, Ash quickly puts her hands in her lap and grins innocently at him. She sits there watching him with big, wide, innocent eyes until he turns his attention back to the group. Just as soon as he does, she throws another piece of food and hits him on the cheek.
Since she still hadn't managed to get Homm's attention, Ash takes another piece of food and throws it as hard as she can at him. When he continues to snore, Ash lets out a big sign. "Ooooooooo," she thinks as she puts the food pouch back on her belt. "Homm, you better wake up or I might just start my collection with your head." She then gets up on her hands and knees and crawls over to him and shakes him real hard as she says "Homm, Homm, you better wake up or I'm gonna chop your head off and put it on a stick." She shakes him as hard as she can determined not to be ignored.

"HOLD IT!" says Cedric and stands up in the middle of Rasidar's monologue. "I have two ears, but only one mind in between! With her talking..." He points at Ash. "...while you hold a monologue..." He points at Rasidar. "...not waiting for her..." He points at Mao. "..to answer his question..." He points at Stelrein. "...how are we ever going to get a clear picture of this mess?"

Ash stops in her tracks when she hears Ced say very commandingly "Hold it." She looks around at him eyes wide with wonder not knowing what had happened to cause such an outburst from Ced. "Ooooooo," she thinks, "Ced is on the warpath too."
"Yeah, I was talking," she says to herself. "Mr. Knight was holding a what?" She wrinkles are nose and looks questionly at Ced. "Hmmm, monologue......Mr. Knight was talking...... guess monologue means Mr. Knight was talking too. Well, he got that one right. And Stel did ask Mao a question and she hasn't answered it yet, so he got that one right also.
Ash shakes her head as if to clear it, wrinkles her nose again and thinks "Wonder what he means by two ears and one mind? Hmmmm, can't mean his ears are stopped up. Seems like he got everything right to me, so what's the problem? Clear picture of this mess. Maybe he needs me to explain to him what is going on....... Nah, that can't be it. Seems like he's already got a clear picture as he put it. He got it all right."
After a moment of watching Ced and not really figuring out what was going on with him. Ash looks back at look Homm, shakes him some more and says "Homm, you better wake up. You're missing all the good stuff. Zu just had a fight with Mel and now Ced is on the warpath about two ears, one mind and a clear picture. Wake up!!!!" And she give him another real hard shake.

Rasidar sighs inwardly at Cedric's impatience. He regards Cedric with a firm glance as he speaks.
"There is no need for such a tone, good Cedric," Rasidar says, a firm edge in his voice. "You are out of line. I urge you to settle down this instant."
His tone softens as he continues, yet with a tinge of firmness.
"`Twas not my intent to neglect Mao's answer. If ever you feel the discussion is moving too quickly, you have but to ask, and I shall do my best to accommodate. However, `tis my discretion to address issues before the party as I see fit, and I ask you to respect it.
"Mao may respond at any time, as she wishes," he informs Cedric. "I have not denied her the opportunity, nor would I wish to do so. I would further remind you that Mao and Stelrein addressed an issue that concerned me directly. Since the focus of the discussion has shifted, it seemed prudent to remind everyone of our priorities."
Some time afterwards, following the interruption and the rest of the speech, Rasidar looks to the rest of the group.
"With this done, I presently yield the floor. At present, anyone may speak who needs to. Certainly, Mao may answer as she pleases before we continue."

Homm continues to snore. this time he does not eat the piece that sticks to his forehead (just above his eyebrow).
that piece of meat on his forehead slips down & it is pure luck that it lands on Homm's lips. his tongue shoots out. the meat is no more.
he sets his posture straight as he is awaken. his squints about 10 times before he rubs his eyes.
he looks around as his vision adjusts to the light. then he looks at Ash.
"is it time for supper?"

JJ sits silently watching and listening to what is going on. She never was very good in groups. Never sure what she should do or say. But she was pretty sure that since she was the newest one, she should keep her trap shut. No sense rocking the boat when she hadn't gotten her footing yet.
So she just watches with interest at the continued antics of the girl and boy off to the side. She takes note of the mage's words, but does not react to his hostility. It wasn't her place to deal with such issues - that was for the leader to handle, and she noted that Rasidar did a fine job. Her respect for him was growing.

Cedric closes his eyes and raises his hands to his temples, rubbing them. Then he takes a deep breath and returns Rasidar's gaze, his eyes deeply red.
"My eyes hurt," he says softly. "Which means I have to rest them, which makes me dependent on my hearing. It's been a strenuous day with a fate that is yet beyond our comprehension, and my concentration, which I need to follow everything, fails me, if there's is too much going on - I lose focus."
"I appreciate you taking responsibility, young knight," he continues with a stronger voice, "and your education and training may befit you for this - whatever you remeber of it. But I'm not a soldier, as he is..." he points at Stelrein. "...I'm not used to taking orders unquestioned or be commandeered around, and I don't see a reason to make it a new habit. You seem reasonable and qualified, so far, and caring for the well being of us all. Thus I'll follow the lead of your suggestions, but I'd appreciate, if you remembered that I'm not one of your knaves {or is 'squire' the better English word?}, Knight of the Orb."
After a moment he reconsiders. "My words may have been too strong," he concedes, "you haven't failed in knightly courtesy."
Elliot - this: 'obviously distinctive of this institution we awoke in, or is it neutral to the outside world?' hasn't been fully answered, I believe - purpose or misunderstanding from my side?

Misunderstanding, I think, though my fault for not making it clear. The only distinctive thing about the various clothing are the tailor's marks. And not all of the clothes you have found are made by the same tailor, either. There is certainly no evidence of a uniform or other institutional design.
GM note - for those of you who do not know, a 'tailor's mark' is like a signature - usually a distinctive stitch found on the inside of a pocket or in some unobtrusive place with which a professional tailor will 'sign' their work. This is a thing your characters would know, as 'off the peg' clothing does not really exist in a medieval society.

"Supper, what do you mean supper," ask Ash sitting in front of him on her knees. "If you don't wake up and talk to me, I'll give you supper, but you want be able to eat it cause your head will be rolling across the floor without a body attached to it. Now do you want to go head hunting with me after this dumb ol' meeting is over or not?"
Ash shakes Homm again just to make sure he is still awake and hopefully listening to her. "I gotta find me a head and I could use your help if you wanna come. Hey, if you want maybe we can find two and then we can see who can roll theirs the furtherest. I want to put mine on a stick though, so you can't smush it. Now do you want to come or not? You gotta decide though cause I'm not gonna wait forever."
She sits there staring expectantly at Homm waiting for him to give her an answer. "Homm answer me would you," she thinks getting more and more impatient. "Why do some people have to be so difficult? I wanna head and all he can think about is food."

Homm turns his head towards her with his wide eyes.

Mao represses a smile when she notices Ash throwing food around on the others. She observes Melissa to see how she is after her altercation with Zumir, and the djinn to see if he's still in a hostile mood some way or if he's interested in Ash's food play.
She's about to answer to Rasidar and Stelrein's words when Cedric intervenes and a little argument with Rasidar follows. She feels amused of being talked for and about in her own face. She glances towards Zumir, thinking that the scene must intrigue him as well. If he doesn't look in bad dispositions and looks her way, she winks discreetly at him with a half smile.
When Cedric mentions his eyes, she wonders if there wouldn't be anything she could do to help. Remembering the lab he mentionned earlier, she takes note to herself to check if she could find anything of use for him. What a shame that she has not her material with her... She shakes her head, trying to chase the thought of her home and the feeling of loss. She drives her thoughts towards Melissa, pensive, considering what Rasidar said; while their origin had to be kept unknown, their look wouldn't betray them; but for the young research mage, it would be another story. They should think about disguising her when the time to get out will come...
When Cedric finishes to talk to Rasidar, Mao turns back to Stelrein. "To answer to your questions; we don't serve anyone in particular... except the King, of course..." She pauses, wondering what she could and could not say, not knowing how things are at the moment and what would remain of their ways, what the others would know of them from their time. It would also be a long explanation, so she decides to keep it for later; they have more urging point to discuss. "For my part, I was in the wildlands at the center-west of the kingdom."
"Legend or not, our identites should be kept secret by the very nature of our presence here anyway..." she adds after wondering a few seconds. "Project Awakening was apparently a secret war effort against the invasion of Lord Gryphon and his troops," she continues, telling the others of what Melissa said about it and about the High Mage Veryn. When she arrives at the point to talk about Melissa and her friends' role in the project, she discreetly looks at her to determinate if she would be willing to do so herself.

Mao
Zumir appears to be puzzled by all the byplay, and is too busy watching Ash & Homm in puzzlement to see you try to catch his eye.
Melissa shows no sign at all of wanting to talk about herself or her friends, only glancing nervously at Zumir when you mention her part in Project: Awakening.

After Rasidar resumed and ended his speech with ceding the floor, upon which Mao spoke up, Cedric focusses on her trying to discard the distraction between Ash and Homm from his mind.
"Project Awakening was apparently a secret war effort against the invasion of Lord Gryphon and his troops," she continues,...
"Ahem - I doubt that - that it was against this Lord Gryphon specifically, I mean ," he comments hesitatingly, and then gathering his thoughts, he continues, "We obviously come from centuries apart - so this project must be ongoing for a minimum as long, and that in preparation for a specific event centuries in the future?" He raises his eyebrows unbelieving. "Someone would have to have been extremely clairvoyant, or..." He frowns as the thought hits him. "...be able to travel through time."

"Yes, please.....yes....Travel through time?" Ash quickly turns her head from Homm to Mr. Mage. He had caught her interest with these words. Could he really travel through time? Wow, if he could that would be really cool," thinks Ash. "Wonder if he would take me with him sometime?"
Ash jumps up and starts towards Ced then remembers Homm and looks back at him. "Don't you move. I'll be right back," she says giving him a warning look. "I gotta find out something. I'll be right back." Turning her attention back to Ced, she walk over to him, stops directly in front of him, and looks up at him her eyes sparking with excitement and wonder as she asks "Can you really travel through time? How far in the past have you been? Have you seen any dinosaurs? Have you been to the future? What's it like? Can you take me with you sometime? I never liked going into the villages with my parents but I think it would be sooooooo cool to get to travel to the future and to the past too. Could I bring something back with me to show them? Please, I'd really like to go," she says beggingly as she almost bounces with excitement. "I promise I'd be good and not cause you any trouble. Please, let me come."
It is very clear that she has not heard the majority of what he said, just the time travel part, so she had assumed that he was talking about having traveled in time himself.
