I used to read Archie as a kid, but what got me back into Sabrina was that it went manga. Tania del Rio is drawing it and has turned it into a great shoujo (girl) title. It's getting quite good, with a deeper story evolving. I'ts not just a bunch of one-issue stories. Not sure if I have any interest anymore in the other titles.

Sabrina was always my favorite character - I connected with her. I watched the cartoon and live show for a while. So it was a natural for me to get back in it when the comic went manga. Who's your favorite character and why?

Favorite characters sounds like a good idea for a thread, Silva. We haven't done one of those in a while. My answer can be found in your avatar, but everyone here knows that already. ;D

I was actually trying to ask BJC what his favorite Archie character was. But maybe we'll just start up that thread and see what he and others say there.

I read Archie as a kid, actually that's what I started with. Got a lot of double digests still. Uh, Jughead's gotta be my favorite, even if nobody asked

the last 6 months i've been cutting seriously on my comics monthly list due to 2 main erasons: - tiered/unhappy at a few titles i liked/followed - tiered of paying 3$ for a comic that within a couple of months will be on the 0.50$ bins (or you can buy from ebay at even less than that, specially in nice lots). - i pretty much prefer to hunt down the comics that made me dream/fall in love with this medium when i was a kid (and never did read them in their original/english format) so right now: - Concrete (mini-series that ended, very good one) - Fables (my fav. comic - it's been a longtime) - Y the last man - Astonishing X-Men (it's mostly for cassaday that i'm staying) - Ultimates (thinking on dropping...really tiered of the huge battle formula, but i love the art) - DD (dropped out but i can't denie that with the very positive critics and astonishing covers i'm tempted to try/pick it up again - oh and yes i also suffer from completionism syndrome) - Astro city (whenever it gets out...like around every 2 to 3 months) - Strangers in Paradise and Birds of Prey (for my wife) so, from around 25 monthly titles i'm now at 5 (possibly 6 with DD) and i'm very happy with my choice... from some time i've entered on the realm of the "silver age and bronze age" (60's and 70's) memory lane and i'm loving the trip regards

Added a few new titles to my pull list so it is now: Amazing Spider-Man Marvel Knights: Spider-Man Ultimate Iron Man New Avengers Young Avengers Marvel Adventures Spider-Man House Of M (I actually decided to buy it!) Spider-Man: Breakout The Ultimates Fantastic Four Green Lantern Nightwing Action Comics I actually decided to start reconnecting to the DC Universe. While Action Comics wasn't that great, the other two were pretty good.

Pedro, glad to hear that you also read Concrete: The Human Dilemma IMO, Concrete's one of the most intelligent comic series I have ever read. I've bought just about every Concrete mini just because I've been blown away so much by Human Dilemma. I must say, Pedro, for a recovering Marvel zombie, you have excellent taste in comics. -SHARK DIGGLER

The thing I like the best about the Concrete books is the every day problems that the characters deal with. Unlike most heroes, Concrete's not looking to save the world from some stupid villain with pointless reasons in trying to take over the world. I love the way the book deals with political and social issues, which is a beautiful thing and I wish more comics were like that. Great characters too. I especially like Larry Munroe, he always seems to be getting himself into bad situations. It's too bad more people don't give books like Concrete, Strangers in Paradise, and Stray Bullets a chance. They're some of the best books out there but I guess people would rather keep reading the same old repetitive crap they've been reading that can't hold a candle to these books in most cases. Pedro, you ever read Optic Nerve by Adrian Tomine? It's a great series that unfortunitely doesn't come out often enough. He had a run of 7 issue with his mini comic before he moved over to Drawn & Quarterly and has had 9 issues come out so far there. If you get a chance, check out that series. -SHARK DIGGLER
