Got my books a couple of days late, but finally picked them up today. Anyway, what did everyone get this week? A light haul, but with some decent finds... Hulk: Destruction #2 Teen Titans #27 Legion Of Super-Heroes #9 Spellbinders #6 (Another book I'll miss. ) Conan #19 I meant to pick up the Spike one-shot, which I think was supposed to be out this week, but I didn't see it. Probably sold out, for all I know...

Haven't been picking up my books on a regular basis, and I've been waiting for arcs and minis to be completed before picking them up, so not all this stuff came out this week: Darevevil #76 Hellblazer #211 Little Star #4 Lucifer #64 (somehow missed this a few months back, [Censored]ing Greg!) Jack Cross #1 Punisher #24 Queen & Country: Declassified 1-3 Smoke #3 Spellbinders 4-6 Strangers in Paradise #75 Walking Dead #21Lots of good stuff for me to read this week. Hellblazer has been kicking much arse since issue #200. It seems like Carey's got a strangle hold on what he wants the direction to be on this book, and it's [Censored]ing aces! For a while it seemed like Carey didn't really know where to go with the book, it didn't flow all that great, even though his stories were still enjoyable. Jack Cross! Yay! Punisher... [Censored] yeah! I'll finally get to finish reading Spellbinders, I've been waiting for it to be complete to read it in one sitting. Already read the first two issues and thought they were okay. A new issue of The Walking Dead is always cause to celebrate! -SHARK DIGGLER

No DD v. Punisher, dude?
Everyone look! i got a comic that Shark didn't. No Otherworld either, though I'm beginning to wonder if there's any reason to buy it other than the phenomenally well-crafted pics.

I'm getting Otherworld, but I'm waiting for it to be complete before I take them out of my hold. -SHARK DIGGLER

I think it's Lapham who wrote DD vs. Punisher. Which I haven't been getting, just because I can't see how anything can favorably compare to Ennis's Punisher right now.
Spellbinders ended solidly, all in all. Shame that we probably won't see these characters again for a while, if at all.

DDvP is great; it's like Lapham channeled Miller/Janson direct (truth be told I'm sure they were an enormous formative influence.) 'S like a classic dark age retrospective.
Plus they have the Jackal, Hammerhead and Bushwhacker, and all fail utterly to suck, and instead rule.

Teen Titans #27 was one of the worst pieces of crap I've read in a long, long time. It was practically unreadable. Stay away, far, far away from it. Liefeld outdone himself this time.

Can't say I was all that impressed either, Hector. Even Gail wasn't able to save this. The art was so confusing that I had trouble following what was going on.
But then, this seems to be the week for skilled writers to be dragged down by bad art. Hulk: Destruction actually does a good job of fixing the Abomination, but Jim Muniz's art is simply terrible.
At least Conan was good...

The book lacked any coherence and I don't think I can stand Liefeld's constipated faces anymore. And why did they ever let him design new characters? The cheap Domino and Blob knock-off were painful. There were maybe a couple of good moments in the script, but they didn't make up for the waste of art at all. Yeah, even the othewise excellent OMAC #5 failed in the art department. It looked rushed and inconsistent.
